Arman Tsarukyan revealed he did not find out Justin Gaethje had won the UFC Freedom 250 main event for eight hours after the fight, having been on a Wi-Fi-less plane when the historic upset occurred.
Tsarukyan described his experience on his YouTube channel.
“I couldn’t watch the fight live. They didn’t have WiFi on the plane, and I was just sitting and saying, ‘No way, how I can miss this flight.’ For 8 hours, I was thinking, ‘What happened, what happened?’ When we landed my friend was like, ‘Justin won.’ I couldn’t believe, to be honest. I was happy.”
Tsarukyan is the frontrunner to challenge Gaethje for the lightweight title after years of waiting for the opportunity.
