Patchy Mix Addresses Controversial Loss To Debutant Jakub Wiklacz At UFC 320 – ‘Can’t Win Split Decisions And Be Happy’

Patchy Mix handled his recent setback with composure.

Mix squared off against former KSW champion and promotional newcomer Jakub Wiklacz on the UFC 320 preliminary card, held Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Although, the former Bellator bantamweight champion found early success with his wrestling, timing takedowns off kicks and controlling portions of the fight on the mat. His grappling transitions were sharp, but Wiklacz’s constant movement and submission attempts kept Mix from settling into a rhythm.

As the bout wore on, fatigue became a factor, and “No Love” struggled to impose his will against Wiklacz’s relentless pressure and punishing bodywork. Though Mix closed strong with top control in the final round, the judges ultimately favored his opponent’s overall activity and striking volume, awarding him a razor-thin split decision win with scores of 29-28, 29-28, and 28-29.

Patchy Mix Reflects On UFC 320 Loss To Jakub Wiklacz

After dropping a controversial split decision setback to Jakub Wiklacz at UFC 320, Patchy Mix took to social media on Saturday to address the outcome. In a brief video message, “No Love” showed humility and acknowledged the loss even though many fans felt he had done enough to win.

“Walking home from the arena, man, it just hits you, you know?,” Mix said. “Just got to keep it in perspective. Can’t win split decisions and be happy when I win them and then when I lose them, I can’t be upset, either. Much respect to my opponent and his team, and just got to get back to the drawing board, get better.”

Back in June, Patchy Mix made his much-anticipated Octagon debut against Mario Bautista at UFC 316, but the night didn’t go his way as he dropped a one-sided unanimous decision. Now facing consecutive setbacks in the UFC, the 32-year-old New Yorker stands at 20-3 in his professional career, with 15 of those victories coming by way of finish.

‘Beat The Common Cold First Pal’ – Fans Brutally Roast Khamzat Chimaev For Saying He’s Ready To Fight Alex Pereira At Heavyweight

Khamzat Chimaev seems resolute about facing Alex Pereira.

On Saturday, Pereira secured a swift first-round TKO over Magomed Ankalaev, reclaiming the UFC light heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 320 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Now that the 205-pound title is once again his, “Poatan” faces no shortage of challengers eager for a shot. Jiri Prochazka stands out as a top candidate for a potential trilogy after defeating Khalil Rountree Jr. the same night, with Carlos Ulberg also in the mix.

Interestingly, newly crowned UFC middleweight champion Chimaev issued a bold challenge, calling for a potential champ vs. champ showdown with Pereira following UFC 320.

However, speaking on the About Last Fight show, Pereira brushed off the proposed matchup, saying he’s eyeing a super fight against former two-division champion Jon Jones at the UFC White House event planned for June 2026.

“Heavyweight [is the most probable next move], Pereira through an interpreter. “I want a super fight. It would be at the White House, against Jon Jones, that’s a super fight.”

On Sunday, “Borz” reiterated his determination to face Pereira, stating he’s prepared to meet the Brazilian star at heavyweight.

“I’m ready to fight you in the heavyweight, you won’t find a super fight than our fight no chama this is SMASH EVERYBODY, Khamzat Chimaev wrote on X.”

Khamzat Chimaev Faces Backlash From Fans Over His Claim To Fight Alex Pereira At Heavyweight

Khamzat Chimaev’s claim to chase Alex Pereira into the heavyweight division failed to resonate with most fans on social media, who not only mocked “Borz” for making what they saw as unrealistic promises while reminding him to focus on defending his middleweight belt in his own division.

Khamzat Chimaev was last in action at UFC 319 in August, where he claimed the 185-pound title by defeating Dricus Du Plessis via lopsided unanimous decision win. “Borz” currently boasts an undefeated 9-0 record in the UFC, including six wins by finish.

Ilia Topuria is proud of his fellow Georgian Merab Dvalishvili’s rise to success.

This past weekend, Dvalishvili successfully defended his bantamweight title for the third time, earning a lopsided unanimous decision over Cory Sandhagen in the co-main event of UFC 320 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The reigning UFC 135-pound champion came close to a knockout in the second round, landing a flurry of heavy punches that had “Sandman” teetering on the edge, but Sandhagen managed to survive.

Despite Sandhagen finding pockets of success with his strikes, Dvalishvili remained largely unfazed, showcasing his extraordinary cardio and pace. Magomed Ankalaev Issues Emotional Statement After Crushing Title Loss To Alex Pereira At UFC 320

Magomed Ankalaev’s UFC title reign was short-lived.

On Saturday night, Ankalaev stepped into the Octagon for his first light heavyweight title defense, squaring off against former foe Alex Pereira in the highly anticipated main event of UFC 320 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Although Ankalaev came out on top in their first encounter at UFC 313 back in March, earning a tough unanimous decision to claim the 205-pound title, the rematch told a very different story. This time, “Poatan” came out guns blazing, and unleashed heavy strikes from the opening bell while Ankalaev tried to answer with body kicks. The Brazilian barely flinched before detonating a crushing right hand that sent the defending champion crashing to the canvas.

Desperate to survive, Ankalaev clung to Pereira’s legs, but his defense only hastened the end. The challenger followed him to the mat, raining down a brutal barrage of ground-and-pound, including several devastating 12-6 elbows, forcing referee Herb Dean to step in just 1:20 into the first round to stop the fight.

After all, Allah clears the way not only of weakness, but also of unnecessary people.” Ankalaev wrote in an Instagram post.”

Before this defeat, Ankalaev boasted an impressive 14-fight unbeaten streak. The 33-year-old Russian first challenged for the light heavyweight title at UFC 282 in December 2022 against former champion Jan Blachowicz, a bout that ended in a hard-fought draw.

Ankalaev’s UFC record now stands at 12-2-1 with one no contest, which includes six victories by knockout.

Magomed Ankalaev Confesses He Was Surprised By Alex Pereira’s Takedown Defense In First Bout Ahead Of UFC 320 Rematch

Magomed Ankalaev admitted he didn’t expect Alex Pereira to display such strong defensive skills during their first encounter.

Ankalaev is set to make his first light heavyweight title defense in the headlining bout of UFC 320 tonight (October 4), taking on familiar rival Pereira at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The pair first met inside the Octagon at UFC 313 in March, where Ankalaev ended Pereira’s reign with a gritty unanimous decision victory to claim the 205-pound title. Throughout the five-round battle, the Russian standout showcased sharp counterstriking and also relied on his well-rounded grappling to stifle Pereira’s trademark power.

However, Ankalaev’s wrestling proved ineffective, with “Poatan” stuffing all 12 of his takedown attempts. Looking back, the Russian champion admits he didn’t anticipate Pereira’s defensive prowess to be that strong.

Magomed Ankalaev Says Alex Pereira’s Takedown Defense Surprised Him

During a recent interview with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier, Magomed Ankalaev reflected on Alex Pereira’s takedown defense from their first clash at UFC 313.

While the reigning light heavyweight champion said he hadn’t fully tested his grappling, Ankalaev also confessed he was genuinely taken aback by “Poatan’s” ability to shut down his takedown attempts during their first clash at UFC 313.

“I was surprised by his ability to defend the takedowns,” Ankalaev said through an interpreter. “He’s got a really good defense, but I blame myself — it was not enough on my part because there were issues why I couldn’t wrestle the way I needed to wrestle. But yeah, a little bit surprised by how good his defense was.”

Magomed Ankalaev enters UFC 320 on a 14-fight unbeaten streak, with his sole defeat dating back to March 2018, when he lost to Paul Craig via third-round submission at UFC London.

UFC Qatar To Be Headlined By Arman Tsarukyan vs. Dan Hooker With Belal Muhammad vs. Ian Garry As Co Main Event On Nov. 22

UFC Qatar is set to showcase several big-name fighters.

The MMA promotion is set to make its debut in Qatar with a Fight Night event scheduled for Saturday, November 22, at the Ali Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah Arena (ABHA Arena) in Doha.

On Wednesday, UFC CEO Dana White announed that UFC Qatar will feature a pivotal lightweight showdown in the main event, as top contender Arman Tsarukyan takes on Dan Hooker.

Tsarukyan has not competed since defeating out former 155-pound champion Charles Oliveira by split decision at UFC 300 in April 2024. “Ahalkalakets” was originally scheduled to challenge then-titleholder Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 this past January, but a back injury suffered during fight week forced him to withdraw from the bout.

He is currently riding a four-fight win streak and holds a 9-2 record in the UFC, with four of those victories coming by way of finish.

On the other hand, Hooker returns to action after edging out Mateusz Gamrot by split decision at UFC 305 in August 2024. The 35-year-old New Zealander has long been calling for a showdown with Tsarukyan, but a string of recurring injuries has repeatedly kept him sidelined.

“The Hangman” comes into the fight on a three-fight winning streak and owns a 14-8 record in the UFC, including nine victories by stoppage.

Meanwhile, the co-main event of UFC Qatar will see former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad facing off against Ian Garry. Muhammad returns to the Octagon following a unanimous decision loss to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315 in May, a defeat that ended both his title reign and an 11-fight unbeaten streak. “Remember the Name” currently holds a 15-4 record with one no-contest in the UFC.

Garry was last seen in the Octagon at UFC Kansas City in April, where he bounced back from his first career loss by earning a unanimous decision victory over Carlos Prates. His only defeat came against Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 in December 2024. “The Future” currently boasts a 9-1 record in the UFC, including three stoppage wins.

  • Ateba Gautier Booked To Face Promotional Newcomer After Ozzy Diaz Withdraws From UFC 320

Ateba Gautier Booked To Face Promotional Newcomer After Ozzy Diaz Withdraws From UFC 320

Ateba Gautier will fight this weekend.

Gautier was originally set to clash with Ozzy Diaz on the preliminary card of UFC 320 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, on Monday, the matchup fell through after Diaz withdrew from the middleweight bout due to undisclosed medical issues, leaving the 23-year-old Cameroonian without an opponent.

Initially, it was uncertain whether “The Silent Assassin” would remain on the UFC 320 card, but a short-notice replacement has now been secured, who is set to make his Octagon debut with just five days’ notice.

Ateba Gautier Will Fight Treston Vines At UFC 320

On Tuesday, Iridium Sports Agency announced via social media that Ateba Gautier will now face promotional debutant Treston Vines, who replaces Ozzy Diaz on the UFC 320 card this Saturday.

Gautier enters UFC 320 riding the momentum of a first-round knockout over Robert Valentin at UFC 318 in July, marking his seventh consecutive knockout victory. He earned his UFC contract in September 2024 with a second-round stoppage of Yura Naito on Dana White’s Contender Series.

“The Silent Assassin” now boasts a professional record of 8-1, including an unbeaten 2-0 slate in the UFC.

Meanwhile, Vines most recently competed at AFC 12: The Great Commission in August, scoring a first-round knockout victory. The 29-year-old American was set to face Andreas Tricomitis at LFA 219 next weekend before earning the call-up to the UFC.

Until now, Vines has primarily competed in regional promotions, amassing a professional record of 10-3, with seven of those wins coming by stoppage.

  • Dricus Du Plessis Picks Alex Pereira To Reclaim His Title Against Magomed Ankalaev At UFC 320 Rematch

Dricus Du Plessis Picks Alex Pereira To Reclaim His Title Against Magomed Ankalaev At UFC 320 Rematch

Dricus Du Plessis trusts Alex Pereira won’t repeat the mistakes he made in the first clash with Magomed Ankalaev.

Pereira is set to run it back with reigning light heavyweight champion Ankalaev in the UFC 320 main event on October 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two first met at UFC 313 in March, where “Poatan” showcased his stellar takedown defense by shutting down all 12 of Ankalaev’s attempts to bring the fight to the mat. Despite neutralizing the his opponent’s wrestling, Pereira found himself on the wrong side of the striking exchanges, as the Russian edged him across five rounds to claim the 205-pound title.

Dricus Du Plessis Believes Alex Pereira Will Defeat Magomed Ankalaev In UFC 320 Rematch

During a recent interview with Fight Forecast, Dricus Du Plessis shared his thoughts on the upcoming UFC 320 clash between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira. The former middleweight champion credited Ankalaev for emerging victorious at UFC 313 but warned that “Poatan” will return sharper, and far more dangerous in the rematch as he looks to reclaim his crown.

“I’ve been looking at the training footage of Pereira for this one.” Du Plessis said. “He looks scary. He looks angry. And, you know, we’ll see what that loss did to him. He has come back from a loss and came back to reclaim the title, but, this fight is a big fight for him. Ankalaev now has that confidence, of course, of being the champion. But, I’m going to go with Pereira on this one.”

“Stillknocks” went on to say he believes Pereira has addressed the weaknesses that cost him in their first encounter and is confident the Brazilian will correct those mistakes to finish Ankalaev at UFC 320.

“It wasn’t the fact that he got taken down. It’s the fact that he got smothered… He’s going to need to keep his back off the fence, and I do believe that they’ve spent enough time working on that. Him taking some time away from the sport was good for him… I really don’t see this fight going the distance this time, but I’m putting my money on Alex Pereira to claim the title. I have to go with him.”

Before his loss to Ankalaev, Alex Pereira successfully defended the light heavyweight title three times in 2024, scoring back-to-back knockout victories over Khalil Rountree Jr., Jiri Prochazka, and Jamahal Hill. “Poatan” now boasts a 9-2 UFC record, with seven of those wins coming via devastating knockouts.

UFC Legend Alexander Gustafsson Reportedly In Deep Negotiations To Make His Boxing Debut Under Misfits Banner

Alexander Gustafsson could be back in action soon, though not inside the cage.

Even without a title to his name, Gustafsson earned recognition as one of the UFC’s premier light heavyweights, compiling an impressive record against elite competition thoughout his MMA career before retiring in 2022.

However, according to a recent report from Swedish outlet Frontkick.online, “The Mauler” is gearing up for a fresh innings in combat sports, as he is reportedly in advanced talks to make his professional boxing debut with Misfits.

The report further noted that the former multi-time UFC title challenger could square off against a fellow Octagon veteran, should everything align as expected.

When Was Alexander Gustafsson’s Last UFC Fight?

Alexander Gustafsson initially seemed to step away from active competition following a fourth-round submission defeat to former title challenger Anthony Smith at UFC Stockholm in June 2019.

However, in June 2020, Gustafsson announced he would come out of retirement to make his UFC heavyweight debut. He faced former champion Fabrício Werdum at UFC Fight Island 3 in July, but the return didn’t go as planned, as he suffered a first-round submission loss.

The 38-year-old Swede remained inactive for another two years before returning to the Octagon in July 2022, moving back down to light heavyweight to face Nikita Krylov at UFC London. Unfortunately, his comeback was cut short, as he suffered a first-round knockout loss.

The UFC Hall of Famer was ultimately released from his contract in December 2024. “The Mauler” later signed with the nascent Global Fight League (GFL MMA), but the promotion folded before hosting a single event due to unmet financial obligations.

Alexander Gustafsson boasts a professional MMA record of 18-8, including a 10-8 mark in the UFC, highlighted by impressive victories over notable fighters such as Glover Teixeira, Jimi Manuwa, and Matt Hamill.

Terence Crawford Pulled Over And Held At Gunpoint In Omaha Just Hours After Victory Parade

Terence Crawford’s post-parade celebration nearly spiraled into a nightmare.

Earlier this month, Crawford etched his name in history by moving up two weight classes to challenge Canelo Alvarez, securing the biggest triumph of his career with a unanimous decision to claim the undisputed super middleweight crown.

To honor his historic win, “Bud” was celebrated with a grand victory parade in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday. The event was a festive spectacle, with Crawford receiving his well-earned praise from teammates, coaches, and countless members of the boxing community.

However, only hours after the parade, the celebration took a shocking twist when the multi-division boxing champion was stopped by Omaha police and momentarily detained at gunpoint. The stop happened around 1:30 A.M. near 12th and Capitol Avenue, after officers cited reckless driving concerns.

During the stop, officers noticed a firearm in the vehicle and ordered all four occupants, including Crawford, to step out at gunpoint. A video initially shared by Facebook user Dre Jimmy shows the 38-year-old Nebraska native behind the wheel during a tense standoff with an officer, who directs him to step out.

Authorities later confirmed that Terence Crawford had been driving and issued him a citation for reckless driving. They also clarified that a member of his security detail was carrying a legally registered firearm and that all passengers were authorized to possess weapons.

  • Magomed Ankalaev Claims Alex Pereira Was Greased Up In First Fight Ahead Of UFC 320 Rematch – ‘He Was Just Too Slippery’

Magomed Ankalaev Claims Alex Pereira Was Greased Up In First Fight Ahead Of UFC 320 Rematch – ‘He Was Just Too Slippery’

Magomed Ankalaev is insisting that Alex Pereira had an unfair advantage in their first fight.

Ankalaev is gearing up to defend his light heavyweight title for the first time against Pereira in the UFC 320 main event, set for October 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two first clashed at UFC 313 this past March, where Ankalaev dethroned “Poatan” with a unanimous decision to capture the light heavyweight crown. While the Russian champ outworked Pereira on the feet across five hard-fought rounds, he also leaned heavily on his wrestling arsenal.

Still, Ankalaev’s grappling yielded nothing, as the resilient Brazilian shut down all 12 of his takedown attempts. Now, though, he believes it wasn’t a shortcoming in skill but rather an illicit tactic on Pereira’s part.

Magomed Ankalaev Claims Alex Pereira Used Grease During UFC 313 Bout

Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira have been trading barbs ever since their first clash, and with UFC 320 drawing near, the rivalry is boiling over.

At a recent open workout in Las Vegas, the reigning light heavyweight champion accused “Poatan” of bending the rules in their UFC 313 showdown, alleging that Pereira greased up to make grappling exchanges far more difficult.

At a recent media interaction during an open workout in Las Vegas, the reigning light heavyweight champion doubled down on his coach Sukhrab Magomedov’s earlier accusations, claiming that “Poatan” bent the rules in their UFC 313 showdown by greasing up to make grappling exchanges nearly impossible.

“Also, I told my coach right away during the rounds that I felt like he was greased,” Magomed Ankalaev said through a translator. “He was just too slippery. These things happen in professional sport, I’m not accusing him of anything, but that’s just what I felt. I spar every day, I train every day, you can feel when people are slippery. It’s too much slippery. So I felt he was too greasy and that played a role also.”

Ankalaev rides a 14-fight unbeaten streak, boasting victories over notable names such as Aleksandar Rakic, Johnny Walker, and Thiago Santos. The 33-year-old Russian stands with a professional slate of 22-1-1 and one no contest, his lone setback coming back in March 2018 when he was submitted by Paul Craig in the third round.

Cris Cyborg Faces Undefeated Sara Collins In PFL Lyon Co-Main Event

The co-main event of PFL Lyon marks the return of Cris Cyborg, who will square off against Sara Collins for the women’s featherweight championship.
