Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford Results & Highlights: Terence Crawford Becomes Undisputed Champion In Third Weight Class

In a bout that has long been anticipated, Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford goes down tonight in an undisputed super middleweight title clash of two of boxing’s pound-for-pound greats today.

The two clash in the main event of the inaugural event promoted by TKO Boxing at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A world champion in four weight classes, Canelo Alvarez picked up his first super middleweight title in December 2018 before defeating Caleb Plant in November 2021 to become the first ever undisputed boxing world champion at 168 pounds. He’d defend the undisputed championship four times before the IBF stripped him in 2024; he’d regain that title and became a two-time undisputed champion at 168 with his win over William Scull this past May.

Crawford has also been a world champion in four weight classes, having held undisputed gold at both light welterweight and welterweight. The undefeated Crawford, after more than five years as a welterweight champion, moved up to light middleweight last year, controversially defeating Israil Madrimov in August 2024 to become a champion at that weight class. This will be his first fight at 168.

The Canelo vs. Crawford card is available on Netflix and will begin at 9pm ET/6pm PT. Prelims are available on YouTube at 5:30pm ET/2:30pm PT. Ring walks for the main event are expected at approximately 11:30pm ET/8:30pm PT.

If you can’t watch the action, MMA News has you covered with all the results and highlights below.

  • UFC Star Bryce Mitchell Swiftly Tapped Out By 19-Year-Old Grappler At EBI 25

UFC Star Bryce Mitchell Swiftly Tapped Out By 19-Year-Old Grappler At EBI 25

Bryce Mitchell’s recent foray into grappling might not have gone as successfully as he had hoped.

On Friday night at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in San Antonio, Texas, Mitchell entered the 16-man lightweight bracket at Eddie Bravo Invitational 25 (EBI 25). “Thug Nasty” earned a hard-fought victory in his opening quarter-final against brown belt JJ Bowers, claiming the win in overtime with the fastest escape time.

However, in the semi-finals, the polarizing UFC fighter faced 19-year-old Landon Elmore, and the matchup quickly turned against him. Early in the bout, Elmore locked in a flying triangle choke, compelling Mitchell to carry his opponent out of bounds.

When the action resumed, Elmore wasted no time, diving for a leg attack that forced the 30-year-old Arkansas native to tap less than a minute into the contest, bringing his tournament run to an abrupt end.

How Many MMA Fights Has Bryce Mitchell Won By Submission?

Bryce Mitchell is widely regarded as one of the most skilled grapplers in the UFC, having secured nine submission victories over the course of his 22-fight professional career. In fact, “Thug Nasty” kicked off his career with an impressive streak, winning his first eight bouts on the regional circuit, all by submission.

Mitchell was most recently seen in the Octagon at UFC Abu Dhabi in July, where he made a successful bantamweight debut, earning a unanimous decision victory over Said Nurmagomedov.

Before this victory, Mitchell endured a challenging stretch in the featherweight division, going 2-3 in his last five fights at 145 pounds. All three defeats came by stoppage against top-tier opponents, including current lightweight champion Ilia Topuria, Josh Emmett, and Jean Silva. He now holds a 9-3 record in the UFC.

  • Olympic Champion Gable Steveson Makes Explosive MMA Debut With 98 Second Finish At LFA 217

Olympic Champion Gable Steveson Makes Explosive MMA Debut With 98 Second Finish At LFA 217

Gable Steveson barely broke a sweat in his dominant MMA debut.

On Friday night at the Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minnesota, Steveson made his long-awaited cage debut at LFA 217, facing Braden Peterson in a heavyweight clash with his training partner and former UFC two-division champion Jon Jones in his corner.

    image: @lfafighting/Instagram

Although the Olympic gold medalist took a few leg kicks in the opening moments, he quickly secured a rapid single-leg takedown. Once on the mat, Steveson controlled the action with a mix of precise, punishing elbows and constant submission threats.

He ultimately ended the fight by rising and raining down a relentless barrage of punches, compelling the referee to stop the bout just 1:38 into the first round. Steveson was awarded Performance of the Night honors for his effort.

When Did Gable Steveson Win Olympic Gold?

Gable Steveson claimed the Olympic gold in freestyle wrestling (125kg) at the 2020 Tokyo Games, defeating Georgia’s Geno Petriashvili in the final showdown.

Shortly after, Steveson signed with WWE and made his professional wrestling debut at SummerSlam 2021. His stint with the promotion, however, was brief, as reports indicated he was released due to limited progress at WWE’s Performance Center.

The 25-year-old American also had a brief stint with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills on the defensive line. Unfortunately, his football aspirations didn’t materialize, leading to his release in August 2024. Steveson subsequently went back to the University of Minnesota to continue his wrestling career and bolster his achievements before ultimately turning his focus to MMA.

  • Yoel Romero Destroys Opponent In BKFC Debut With Vicious Round 2 Knockout

Yoel Romero Destroys Opponent In BKFC Debut With Vicious Round 2 Knockout

Yoel Romero showed at 48 that he still has everything it takes to shake the combat sports world.

On Friday night, Romero stepped into gloveless combat for the first time at BKFC 80, held at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, where he squared off against fellow debutant Theo Doukas in a heavyweight showdown.

    Image: @bareknucklefc/Instagram

Although the “Soldier of God” took a measured approach in the opening round while his opponent held firm, the momentum swung violently in the second. The former Olympic medalist unleashed his trademark explosiveness, dropping Doukas three times in brutal fashion.

Reeling from a deep cut on his forehead, Doukas was unable to answer the count after the third knockdown, forcing the referee to wave it off at the 1:56 mark and awarding Romero a devastating TKO victory.

When Did Yoel Romero Part Ways With UFC?

After his unsuccessful attempt to capture the middleweight title against then-champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 248 in March 2020, Yoel Romero’s run in the Octagon ended abruptly, despite having three fights left on his contract.

Following his UFC exit, the “Soldier of God” made the move to Bellator, where he went 3-2 and battled his way to a light heavyweight title shot against Vadim Nemkov at Bellator 297, ultimately dropping a decision.

His chapter with the promotion closed in February 2024 at the PFL vs. Bellator crossover event, where Romero capped off his run in style with a unanimous decision victory over former UFC title challenger Thiago Santos.

Romero also tested himself under the unconventional ruleset of Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing Championship, where he showcased his power with back-to-back stoppage wins, first against Duane Crespo in November 2024 and then with a finish over Ras Hylton this past March.

Watch Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford Ceremonial Weigh-Ins

We’re now just one night away from the highly anticipated Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford undisputed super middleweight title matchup, and MMA News is here to bring you the video from the ceremonial weigh-ins for the card!

Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford takes place on September 13 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Alvarez, a four-division world champion, won his first belt at super middleweight in December 2018, when he knocked out Rocky Fielding for the WBA “Regular” title before defeating Callum Smith in December 2020 for the WBA “Super” title and WBC title. After a successful defense against Avni Yildirim, he’d pick up the WBO title in a win over Billy Joe Saunders and the IBF title with a win against Caleb Plant to become the first undisputed super middleweight champion.

Alvarez would make four defenses of the undisputed championship before the IBF stripped him of their gold. He’d retain the other three titles against Edgar Berlanga last year before regaining the IBF title with a win over William Scull in May.

Crawford already has experience being an undisputed champion, having become the first male boxer in the sport’s history to do so in two different weight classes — light welterweight and welterweight. After over five years as a champion at welterweight, beginning with his WBO welterweight title win in 2018, Crawford became a champion in a fourth weight class in his WBA and WBO light middleweight title win over Israil Madrimov in August 2024.

The main card will also feature Callum Walsh taking on Fernando Vargas Jr., Christian M’billi defending the WBC interim super middleweight title against Lester Martinez, and Mohammed Alakel facing Travis Kent Crawford.

  • ‘So F**kin Disrespectful’ – Dana White Faces Backlash From MMA Fans After Announcing $100K Bonuses For Canelo vs. Crawford Undercard

‘So F**kin Disrespectful’ – Dana White Faces Backlash From MMA Fans After Announcing $100K Bonuses For Canelo vs. Crawford Undercard

Dana White is setting significant plans in motion as he prepares for the inaugural Zuffa Boxing event.

White is establishing his presence in the boxing promotion landscape under the TKO banner, with his partnership alongside Turki Alalshikh putting Zuffa Boxing firmly in motion. That vision takes its first big step this weekend as the UFC CEO helps steer the highly anticipated Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford showdown on Saturday, September 13, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

During a recent appearance on the Stephen A. Smith Show, announced that undercard fighters would be eligible for Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night bonuses, with $100,000 awarded for each honor.

“So on the undercard fights — Canelo and Crawford are going to do just fine on Saturday night, they’re going to be OK — but on the undercard fights, we’re going to have a Performance of the Night and a Fight of the Night,” White said. “$100,000 each for the fighters on the undercard from Sheik Turki. So you can be involved in the Performance of the Night and the Fight of the Night and take home $200,000 for these undercard fighters.”

The Canelo vs. Crawford undercard features a total of nine bouts, meaning every boxer aside from the headliners is eligible for the $100,000 bonuses provided by Alalshikh.

UFC Fans Slam Dana White After He Announces $100K Bonuses For Canelo vs. Crawford Undercard

Dana White’s plan to award $100,000 bonuses exclusively to undercard fighters on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford boxing card contrasts with the UFC setup, where typically two Performance of the Night bonuses and one Fight of the Night bonus are handed out and all fighters are eligible.

However, the announcement has ignited a wave of outrage on social media, with MMA fans sharply criticizing the UFC CEO for not extending similar $100,000 bonuses to UFC fighters.

    https://twitter.com/yourclipss/status/1966579959054438527

Last year, Dana White issued one-off increases to post-fight bonuses for select pay-per-view events. Notably, for the historic UFC 300, bonuses were raised to $300,000. Similarly, at UFC 304, White doubled the usual $50,000 bonus to $100,000 at the request of King Green.

The UFC CEO has hinted that UFC fighters could see an increase in their post-fight bonuses under the promotion’s groundbreaking $7.7 billion TV rights deal with Paramount, which is slated to take effect in 2026.

Watch Diego Lopes, Jean Silva Face Off At Noche UFC Ceremonial Weigh-Ins

We’re a little less than 24 hours away from the third annual Noche UFC, and MMA News is here to bring you the video from the ceremonial weigh-ins for the card!

Noche UFC takes place on September 13 from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The main event will see a featherweight showdown featuring contenders Diego Lopes and Jean Silva. This will be Lopes’ first fight since falling short in a fight with Alexander Volkanovski for the UFC featherweight title at UFC 314. Silva is on a 13-fight win streak, which includes a 5-0 record with five finishes in the Octagon. This will be his first fight since submitting Bryce Mitchell, a fight that also took place at UFC 314.

The co-main event will see a bantamweight battle between Rob Font and David Martinez. Font has won two straight and three of his last five, most recently scoring a split decision over Jean Matsumoto at UFC Seattle in February. Martinez, filling in for an injured Raul Rosas Jr., has won eight straight and enters with a 12-1 professional MMA record. Martinez, the former Combate Global champion, scored a first-round finish of Saimon Oliveira in his UFC debut this past March.

The rest of the main card will see Rafa Garcia facing Jared Gordon, Kelvin Gastelum taking on Dustin Stoltzfus, Alexander Hernandez squaring off with Carlos Diego Ferreira, and Santiago Luna doing battle with Quang Le.

Though Gastelum weighed in five pounds above the middleweight limit, all fights remain on for Noche UFC 3!

  • Kelvin Gastelum Misses Weight By 5 Pounds But Opponent Agrees To Keep Noche UFC Fight Alive

Kelvin Gastelum Misses Weight By 5 Pounds But Opponent Agrees To Keep Noche UFC Fight Alive

Kelvin Gastelum finds himself on the wrong side of the scales once again.

Gastelum is set to face Dustin Stoltzfus in a middleweight clash at this year’s Noche UFC event on September 13 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. However, the former Ultimate Fighter winner ran into trouble at the scales on Friday during the official weigh-in, coming in at 191 pounds, five pounds over the 186-pound non-title limit.

As a result, Gastelum must give up 35% of his fight purse to Stoltzfus, though the middleweight showdown will proceed as scheduled.

The former UFC 185-pound interim title challenger last stepped into the Octagon at UFC 316 this past June, where he fell to Joe Pyfer via unanimous decision. Gastelum’s most recent victory came at UFC Saudi Arabia in June 2024, where he secured a hard-fought decision over Daniel Rodrigues.

The 33-year-old Californian has endured a prolonged rough stretch in his career, compiling a 3-7 record across his last 10 outings since April 2019.

Meanwhile, Stoltzfus is also looking to rebound, having dropped a unanimous decision to Nursulton Ruziboev in his most recent appearance at UFC Vegas 106 this past May. The former Dana White’s Contender Series standout has struggled to live up to expectations, holding a 3-6 record across nine fights in the UFC.

How Many Times Has Kelvin Gastelum Missed Weight In His UFC Career?

Kelvin Gastelum has built up a notable history of weight management struggles throughout his UFC career. His first miss came in June 2014 at UFC San Antonio, where he failed to make the welterweight limit ahead of his fight with Nico Musoke.

Just months later, at UFC 183 in February 2015, Gastelum came in a staggering nine pounds over the 171-pound mark for his matchup with Tyron Woodley.

In November 2016, Gastelum once again failed to make weight, this time with significant repercussions as his scheduled bout with Donald Cerrone at UFC 205 was scrapped entirely.

Noche UFC now marks the fourth instance in Kelvin Gastelum’s 25-fight UFC tenure where he has failed to make weight, and it is the first time he has ever come in overweight for a middleweight contest.

  • Artem Lobov Takes Aim at BKFC Leader David Feldman Over Ongoing Pay Problems: “He’s never provided me with the real numbers”

Artem Lobov Takes Aim at BKFC Leader David Feldman Over Ongoing Pay Problems: “He’s never provided me with the real numbers”

Artem Lobov claims he is owed money by Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship but based on some uncertainties with reported pay-per-view numbers, he concedes that the amount he is owed could vary around that. The former UFC combatant spoke about this during a recent interview with Jordan Ellis of Bloody Elbow.

Lobov is targeting a return to combat sports after over four years on the sidelines when he makes his official PFL debut against long time rival Zubaira Tukhugov at PFL Champions Series 2 on October 3rd. In June 2019, Lobov defeated Paulie Malignaggi at BKFC 6 in what was one of the most influential fights in the nascent days of the company but some confusion regarding the PPV buy rates from that show have ‘The Russian Hammer’ usnure on some financial particulars.

Artem Lobov unsure of what Feldman is denying, knows BKFC owes him a certain cut of whatevever the cumulative PPV buy rate was

When asked in a prior interview on The Ariel Helwani Show a few weeks ago, Lobov was asked if a BKFC return was possible and the former Conor McGregor training partner did not totally put the kibosh on it but claimed the gloveless promotion owed him some money.

Some prior claims positioned BKFC 6 at 200K pay-per-view buys but David Feldman has also disputed that figure at times. During the aforementioned Bloody Elbow interview that he has done in more recent times, Artem Lobov said,

“I don’t understand what he was denying because he knows he owes me money. He’s saying denying that, oh, it wasn’t 200,000 pay-per-view sold, but this is simply what he announced. You know, he announced and somebody actually pulled up an article there under the tweet of Ariel Helwani and and Feldman talking about this.”

“Someone pulled up an article where David Feldman announced 200,000 pay-per-views sold. Like, he’s never provided me with the real numbers. So, I can only go off by what he reported to the media, you know, worldwide. So, that’s where I got this number. Now, fair enough. If he’s saying it was around 100,000 pay-per-view sold, okay, no problem. In that case, he owed me about $75,000, you know.”

Terence Crawford on Being the Underdog Against Canelo: “Just watch me”

Terence Crawford is not obtuse to the fact that many think he will fall short against Canelo Alvarez on Saturday, September 13th on Netflix but this does not dissuade the undefeated figher in the least. ‘Bud’ spoke about this perception from oddsmakers heading into his next contest to on-site reporters at the pre-fight media day. This media gathering was hosted on Wednesday ahead of his massive fight with Canelo Alvarez over the weekend.

Crawford has cemented himself as a multi-division champion in the sweet science but will arguably be embarking on his most daring quest yet. ‘Bud’ Crawford will jump up multiple weight categories for what amounts to a potentially massive legacy move by taking on the undisputed super middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. When discussing the mindset he has with being so demonstrably successufl in boxing but still having several doubters heading into this Canelo clash, Crawford said,

“I think people is underestimating everything about me, you know, but that doesn’t matter, you know. We got to fight here Saturday and all the answers will be answered that night… Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, you know, what one, you know, think of me doesn’t, you know, move me or anything. They can’t fight for him. They can’t fight for me. So, you know, their opinion doesn’t matter at the end of the day in my eyes or in my feelings because I’ve been doubted my whole career, my whole life in boxing.”

Terence Crawford: “just watch me do it” on Netflix broadcasted super fight

In expressing past instances in his boxing career where people tried to temper aspirations of his that outsiders saw as lofty, Terence Crawford said,

“So, you know, I’ve been told I wouldn’t never be where I’m at now. I was told that I needed to get another job because I wasn’t going to be a world champion. So many things that I’ve been told in my life, I just like, okay, well, just watch me do it, you know, and with my self-belief in myself, I don’t care what nobody else say because I’m comfortable in my own skin.”

Watch the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford Final Pre-Fight Press Conference (9 p.m. ET)

We are just two nights away now from the highly anticipated undisputed super middleweight title bout that sees Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford. And now it’s time for a little more build to this already high intensity matchup among two of boxing’s pound-for-pound best with a good old fashioned press conference.

This will be one of the last times the two will speak to each other, as well as the fans and the media, prior to their clash on Saturday night, September 13, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Though Alvarez picked up his initial super middleweight title back in December 2018, he became the undisputed champion with an 11th-round finish of Caleb Plant in November 2021. He became a two-time undisputed champion by defeating William Scull in May. This will mark the seventh unified super middleweight title defense for the four-division world champion.

The undefeated Crawford has also been an undisputed boxing world champion before, winning all four alphabet titles at both light welterweight and welterweight. This will be his first matchup since his controversial win over Ismail Madrimov to become WBO interim light middleweight champion. This is Crawford’s first fight at super middleweight.

The Netflix card will also feature Callum Walsh taking on Fernando Vargas Jr., Christian M’bili defending the interim WBC super middleweight title against Lester Martinez, and Mohammed Alakel facing Travis Kent Crawford.

Watch the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford Press Conference

Alvarez and Crawford will partake in a press conference on the evening of September 11 in Las Vegas. This is the opportunity for fighters to answer questions from media and fans, as well as potentially lay in some smack talk on their opponents.

Check out a live stream of the presser below via the UFC’s official YouTube channel, commencing at 9 PM ET.

‘M*rder Of A Future President’ – Charlie Kirk’s Horrifying Assassination In Utah Devastates Combat Sports Community

Charlie Kirk’s brutal assassination stunned society, touching even the combat sports world.

On Wednesday afternoon, right-wing activist Kirk was swept into the escalating political violence gripping America as he was gunned down during an event at the Sorensen Center courtyard on the Utah Valley University campus.

The U.S. President Donald Trump’s staunch supporter was speaking to students in a campus Q&A beneath a white gazebo when a single gunshot tore through the air. Kirk clutched his neck as blood poured from the left side, while horrified onlookers scattered in terror.

Kirk was immediately taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, but Trump later confirmed on social media that he had succumbed to his injuries. The Republican leader further declared that, in honor of the late Turning Point USA co-founder, all American flags nationwide would be lowered to half-mast until Sunday evening.

Jake Paul, Sean Strickland And Others In Combat Sports React To Charlie Kirk Shooting

After confirmation of Charlie Kirk’s death from a gunshot, numerous prominent figures in the combat sports world took to social media to react. Some described the attack as a deliberate attempt to silence conservative voices in the U.S., while others blamed what they called the broader leftist ecosystem for his death.

  • UFC Insider Names Who Jon Jones Should Face in His Comeback Fight

UFC Insider Names Who Jon Jones Should Face in His Comeback Fight

Jon Jones should step back into the octagon against a particular heavyweight, one who doesn’t happen to be the reigning UFC champion, per a former opponent of Jones. This sentiment was expressed by Chael Sonnen on his YouTube channel where ‘The American Gangster’ shouted out a former two time opponent of Tom Aspinall’s for who he thinks could give Jones a run for his money.

Expounding upon why he feels the number four ranked heavyweight contender in the UFC could give ‘Bones’ a stiff test inside the confines of the cage, Sonnen said,

“The hardest opponent for Jon Jones has not changed. The hardest stylistic matchup for Jon Jones, and this has been true for the better part of half a decade, is Curtis Blaydes. Now, you let that sink in and you do with that what you want, but as far as matchup goes, the highest achievement that Jon ever had in wrestling was something called a junior college national championship; a very good and hard achievement. Curtis Blaydes’ highest achievement is that same exact title, one weight class apart. Curtis Blaydes is also a junior college national champion. Jon did it at 197 pounds and Curtis did it at heavyweight.”

Jon Jones acting like his retirement never happened, Sonnen questions Jones’ return

The Jon Jones retirement saga and the emergent talks of Jones wanting to return to compete at next year’s UFC White House card are leaving Sonnen perplexed. The title unification talks with Tom Aspinall dominated MMA media headlines for months with Jones inauspiciously choosing to vacate his belt with Dana White stating ‘Bones’ was hanging up the gloves at the UFC Baku post-event press conference.

Jones has since re-entered the UFC’s drug testing pool for the White House card next Summer with promoter Dana White mentioning that Jones being featured on that particular card would be a one billion to one type of likelihood. Despite Jones claiming he is back to training five days a week, Sonnen has his doubts as he has not seen anyone come out to claim they’re training with the former two division UFC champion and no one is coming out claiming to be coaching Jones.

The former two division UFC title challenger mentioned this on a recent episode of Good Guy/ Bad Guy which Chael Sonnen regularly hosts with fellow former Jones adversary, Daniel Cormier. As he expressed himself on that referenced podcast, Sonnen stated [via MMA Junkie],

“If Jon says that he’s back and he was never injured, he was never ill, he just didn’t want to fight Tom Aspinall; that’s the part to me that’s a little bit weird. He’s playing this as though that retirement never happened, as opposed to this is a comeback. If you’re coming back, what are you coming back for? What is it that you’re coming back to? And is it just an open slate to admit anything? ‘Anyone except that guy, that guy over there in England. Anybody but him.’ Is that how we’re supposed to interpret this?”

  • Sean Strickland Reacts To Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk Being Shot Dead In Utah – ‘I’m Just Numb’

Sean Strickland Reacts To Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk Being Shot Dead In Utah – ‘I’m Just Numb’

Sean Strickland has a hardline reaction to Charlie Kirk being publicly shot.

On Wednesday, conservative activist and prominent U.S. president Donald Trump supporter Kirk was caught up in the latest surge of political violence in the U.S. when he was shot during an event at the Sorensen Center courtyard on the Utah Valley University campus.

The Turning Point USA co-founder was speaking to students during a Q&A at a public gathering on campus under a white tent when a single gunshot pierced the air. Kirk was seen clutching his neck as blood poured from the left side, while onlookers tried to flee the scene in panic.

Check out the video of the incident below (viewer discretion advised):

Shortly after the shooting, Trump confirmed on social media that Kirk had died from his injuries. He also announced that, in honor of the late 31-year-old Illinois native, all American flags across the U.S. would be flown at half-mast until Sunday evening.

Authorities initially apprehended someone in connection with the shooting, but a university spokesperson later confirmed to the media that the suspect is still not in police custody.

Sean Strickland Comments On Charlie Kirk Being Shot

After videos of Charlie Kirk’s shooting surfaced online, a fan on X asked Sean Strickland for his take on the incident. The former UFC middleweight champion responded in a figurative and confrontational manner.

“Yeah man, it’s f**ked up, but a very wise Roman philosopher once said, ‘The best way to vote is with a gun.’” Strickland replied.

    https://twitter.com/SStricklandMMA/status/1965855748661146080

In another post, the polarizing UFC star, referring to multiple violent events, admitted that he has become desensitized to the relentless exposure to online violence.

“I’m just numb to seeing people die online. The entire world watched a Ukrainian girl get murdered.Every day, someone is getting murdered live-streamed. We see Russians merked by drones. Just numb to tragedy in 2025. Welcome to the internet. The erosion of humanity, one reel at a time,” Sean Strickland posted.

Strickland was last seen in action at UFC 312 this past February, falling short in his attempt to regain the middleweight title after suffering a lopsided unanimous decision loss to then-champion Dricus Du Plessis.

“Tarzan” is currently suspended from competition for six months by the Nevada Athletic Commission, until December 29, following an incident at the June 28 Tuff-N-Uff event in Las Vegas, during which he entered the cage and attacked fighter Luis Hernandez.

  • Andrew Tate Responds to ‘Desperate’ Darren Till: “Fighting me is life changing money”

Andrew Tate Responds to ‘Desperate’ Darren Till: “Fighting me is life changing money”

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has made it clear that he would be interested in a boxing match against Darren Till.

As we know, Andrew Tate has been a pretty big name in the news cycle over the course of the last few years. His controversial statements and views have landed him in hot water on more than one occasion, and beyond that, he’s currently involved in some legal issues that have led to a great deal of debate regarding his imminent future.

Darren Till, meanwhile, is enjoying life outside of the UFC as he continues to build a name for himself as something of a juggernaut in the ‘influencer boxing’ scene. Recently, he’s made it known that he wants to throw down with Andrew Tate.

In a reply posted to social media, Andrew Tate issued a warning to Till whilst also praising him.

Andrew Tate responds to Darren Till

“Darren I think you’re hilarious. Always enjoyed your antics and humor. Also seen your career and respect it, you’re well liked in my circles. The fight would be great! I understand fighting me is life changing money for you (not me).

“But there’s no need for name calling. I really don’t like all that clown s*** and being rude etc. We’re both professionals here. I find it rude and if that’s the way you’re trying to get the fight it won’t happen. I’m the superstar here. Talk nicely and I’ll reply to your team’s desperate messages.”

Will it happen? We’ll have to wait and see.

  • Alex Pereira Calls In Help from Ex-Rival Sean Strickland For Upcoming Title Match

Alex Pereira Calls In Help from Ex-Rival Sean Strickland For Upcoming Title Match

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has revealed that he is training with former foe Sean Strickland ahead of his rematch with Magomed Ankalaev.

As we know, Alex Pereira is set to challenge Magomed Ankalaev for the UFC light heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 320. It comes after Ankalaev won the belt from ‘Poatan’, with many wondering whether or not the Brazilian had the skills necessary to overcome the new champion in a rematch. Regardless of which side of the fence you fall on, we’re going to find out the answer sooner rather than later.

Alex Pereira’s big problem, in the eyes of many, is that he simply can’t deal with Ankalaev on the ground. As you can imagine, he’ll be doing everything in his power to rectify that problem ahead of fight night.

In a recent video released by Alex Pereira, he revealed that he’s been training with former opponent Sean Strickland.

Alex Pereira calls in Sean Strickland

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see whether or not this is going to have a big impact on Pereira and how he approaches this fight. Strickland isn’t particularly known for his wrestling prowess, but he’s definitely the right kind of fighter to have around when you’re viewed as an underdog in a world title fight.

It’s always great to see former rivals putting their differences aside to train with each other, and it’ll be interesting to see how long they keep up this partnership.

  • Ronda Rousey Declines UFC White House Fight Offer: “I got better sh*t to do”

Ronda Rousey Declines UFC White House Fight Offer: “I got better sh*t to do”

UFC legend Ronda Rousey has made it clear that she isn’t interested in fighting at the UFC White House event next year.

As we know, Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest stars in the history of mixed martial arts. She made an incredible impact when she first made her way into the UFC, and while she’s been on a bit of a rollercoaster journey with both the fans and the promotion, her legacy in the sport speaks for itself.

For many years, Ronda Rousey has been tipped to make a return to MMA in some form. Given that her last two fights ended in devastating losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, you’d think that she may want the chance to come back and compete at least one more time.

In a recent interview, however, Ronda Rousey made it known that if she does come back, it won’t be at the White House.

Ronda Rousey turns down possible UFC White House fight

“I’m not fighting at the White House. I mean, you know, after Mike Tyson being in the biggest fight of the year, you never say never. But I ain’t fighting at the f***ing White House.”

“Even if offered? I got better s*** to do. My kid needs pasta.”

There would be a great deal of interest in Rousey making her return, if only because nobody really knows what she’d look like given the amount of time she’s had off. Alas, the White House isn’t where isn’t going to happen.

  • Khabib Nurmagomedov Has a Loss and is not Undefeated – UFC Commentator Explains

Khabib Nurmagomedov Has a Loss and is not Undefeated – UFC Commentator Explains

UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes that there’s one fight in the career of Khabib Nurmagomedov that he should’ve lost.

As we know, Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. He retired from the sport with an incredible 29-0 record, and he was able to defeat some big names throughout the course of his career – including Conor McGregor, Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier.

While he’s been retired for five years now, Khabib Nurmagomedov is still very highly thought of and is constantly featured in the GOAT debate. However, there have been a few instances over the years in which he was in trouble during his fights.

Some even believe that Khabib Nurmagomedov should’ve lost via decision in a fight with Gleison Tibau many years ago. As it turns out, Joe Rogan falls into that category.

Joe Rogan believes Khabib Nurmagomedov should have lost one fight

“I think that’s the one guy that should have beat him,” Rogan said during the most recent episode of “JRE Fight Companion.” “If you look at the record, Khabib’s got an undefeated record, (but) there’s an asterisk. That asterisk is Gleison Tibau. That was a very f*cking close fight that I thought Khabib lost, but it was early in Khabib’s career. You know, it was before he won the title.”

    Quotes via MMA Junkie

Khabib won’t care all too much about this opinion, especially considering the likes of Jon Jones and Georges St-Pierre have been involved in similarly questionable decisions over the years.

  • Marvin Vettori comes under heavy fire for controversial tweet

Marvin Vettori comes under heavy fire for controversial tweet

UFC fighter Marvin Vettori has come under fire for an antisemitic tweet that he posted to social media platform X.

One thing we know to be true about Marvin Vettori is that he’s never afraid to speak his mind. While he’s best known for his accomplishments inside the cage, the Italian also has a tendency to voice his thoughts on social media, in interviews, and in back and forth exchanges with his rivals.

Of course, for a lot of fans and media members, there are lines that you simply don’t cross. Marvin Vettori tends to get quite close to the line, but in the eyes of many, he stepped over it with the following statement.

    Marvin Vettori lashes out

“F*** all these people, this s*** is getting out of hand, they control everything, f*** these ashkenazi Jews that wants control over the world. Here I said it.”

At this point, we shouldn’t be surprised by any kind of statement made by a UFC fighter – especially in the “free speech” age that we appear to be living through. Dana White isn’t the kind of boss who is going to punish his fighters for what they say, and as such, we can’t imagine there are going to be many repercussions for Vettori with respect to these comments.

Whether it be Vettori, Bryce Mitchell, Sean Strickland or any number of other fighters, tweets like this are going to continue happening.

Will things change in the future? It certainly doesn’t seem overly likely.

  • Noche UFC Fighter Reveals He Has Only $13.96 Coming Into Event This Weekend

Noche UFC Fighter Reveals He Has Only $13.96 Coming Into Event This Weekend

A middleweight is coming into Noche UFC with everything on the line.

The third annual celebration of Mexico’s Independence Day takes place this Saturday, September 13, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Originally slated for Guadalajara, Mexico, as UFC 320, construction setbacks at Arena Guadalajara pushed the promotion to move the card stateside, repackaging it as a Fight Night.

Noche UFC will see Sedriques Dumas step back into action against Zach Reese in a 185-pound clash. For “The Reaper”, the stakes extend far beyond the Octagon, as he revealed on social media earlier this week that he’s coming into this fight facing a severe financial crisis, even posting a screenshot (now deleted) showing just $13.96 in his bank account.

According to the 30-year-old Floridaman, he is struggling through a chaotic year marked by family demands, mounting expenses, and legal troubles that almost derailed his career.

“This is a price of being an adult and paying legal actions and stuff in your life,” Dumas wrote. “I hate to hear people say people don’t struggle at a big scene. Yeah all y’all can laugh about it. I’m just giving y’all something to laugh about.”

Dumas has a history of run-ins with the law, and this past April he was reportedly arrested for the 14th time, facing charges of felony home invasion robbery without a firearm, misdemeanor battery, and felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, with bond set at a staggering $558,500.

What Record Does Sedriques Dumas Carry Into Noche UFC?

Sedriques Dumas was initially scheduled to face Jackson McVey at UFC 317 this past July, but the bout never materialized after he was fitted with an ankle monitor and restricted to a 100-mile radius due to felony charges from April.

Dumas was last seen inside the Octagon at UFC 314 in April, where he fell to Michal Oleksiejczuk via first-round knockout. His most recent victory came in August 2024 at UFC Abu Dhabi, when he earned a unanimous decision win over Denis Tiuliulin.

“The Reaper” secured his UFC contract with a spectacular submission victory over Matej Penaz in August 2022 on Dana White’s Contender Series. Since then, Dumas has gone 3-3 across six Octagon appearances. He is coming into Noche UFC with a professional record of 10-3, with six of those wins coming by way of finishes.

  • Why Darren Till Wants Andrew Tate Next: ‘I’m ready whenever you are’

Why Darren Till Wants Andrew Tate Next: ‘I’m ready whenever you are’

Darren Till is eyeing a fight with the controversial Andrew Tate for his next outing and is making it known publicly. Till again put this desire for a Tate fight out there during a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. The former UFC welterweight title challenger has been carving out a name for himself on the Misfits Boxing circuit with Till’s most recent win being a highlight reel KO of Luke Rockhold at Misfits Boxing 22 toward the end of August.

Tate is an extremely polarizing influencer who is also a retired kickboxer that has competed in MMA before as well. When outlining who he wants to fight next in the big gloves, Till said,

“Andrew Tate, listen. I’m calling you out. I want that fight. It’s been talked about a lot, but it hasn’t happened yet. I’m ready whenever you are. You think you can step in the ring with me? Let’s see what happens. I’m not scared. Let’s do it.”

Darren Till does have other options in mind if Tate bout doesn’t pan out

Darren Till did pointedly mention a few other names that he would like to throw down with under Queensberry Rules if the manosphere content creator does not step into the ring with him. ‘The Gorilla’, in the same referenced interview above, shouted out the likes of Carl Froch, Tommy Fury, Mike Perry, and Jorge Masvidal as individuals he would be keen to fight in the Misfits Boxing ring.

Froch is someone that Till called out on the microphone in the waning moments after his KO of former UFC champion Rockhold in Manchester. Carl Froch has been retired for years now and while he did not confirm a return, there seemed to be a certain level of intrigue in a future Till fight.

Tommy Fury was initially lined up to fight Till in the Misfits ring until a tongue in cheek comment from the latter about throwing kicks if the boxing bout did not go his way caused the young Fury to pull out of the planned bout. Perry and Masvidal are individuals he has history with as Till has long sought out a fight with ‘Platinum’ Perry which has inexplicably never happened while Till did fight Masvidal in the UFC and the UK native got knocked out by the former BMF champion in 2019.

Till had also mentioned in the chat with Helwani that he intends to compete again this calendar year by pointedly mentioning December as when he aims to return to the ring. It remains to be seen who Darren Till will throw down with around the holiday season.

  • Ex-Team Khabib Fighter calls Tony Ferguson “1 of the craziest lightweights of all time”

Ex-Team Khabib Fighter calls Tony Ferguson “1 of the craziest lightweights of all time”

Tony Ferguson recently snapped an eight fight losing skid at Misfits Boxing 22 and a former fighter out of Team Khabib has weighed in on the journey ‘El Cucuy’ has been on. Khalid Taha, the referenced fighter in question, has also had that training proximity to Luke Rockhold who also competed at MFB 22 although with quite a different end result as he was finished by Darren Till.

Khalid Taha clashes with Edgar Delgado Jimenez at Oktagon 75 on September 13th and Taha appeared on Bowks Talking Bouts to cover several subjects across the combat sports world. That being said Rockhold’s journey has been a microcosm of sorts for what kind of an exciting time it is to be a combat sports athlete with Rockhold competing in BKFC, Karate Combat, Craig Jones Invitational, and now Misfits Boxing since departing from the UFC.

Taha admittedly enjoyed the pre-fight build to Luke Rockhold vs. Darren Till but mentioned how he only saw the finish across social media and didn’t have as much direct insights on that particular prizefight. When expressing his thoughts on the characterization that the landscape for fighters seems decently healthy now in the aforementioned regards, Taha said,

“It’s the same with Tony Ferguson. I like it, you know, because imagine like the new fans when they watch MMA since 1, 2, 3, 4 years [ago], they see like Tony Ferguson as the biggest flop in history, you know. But if you watch UFC and MMA from before, Tony Ferguson was one of the craziest lightweights of all time, you know.”

Tony Ferguson returning to the win column and the landscape today benefitting the vets

When further expressing his admiration for Tony Ferguson’s recent win and what this current free agency landscape can provide tenured fighters who still have a name and a desire to compete, Taha continued,

“And that’s what I like because he [Tony Ferguson] has a long losing streak, has like psych[ological] problems and all the stuff. You never know what happens, you know. And I like it that you have different opportunities now. Different organizations who pay also a lot of money so that you can fight for a living, you know. And it’s very, very good for like the veterans.”
