“The Kid Is Legit” – Quillan Salkilld Finishes Beneil Dariush

Facing the toughest test of his career so far, Quillan Salkilld passed once again, putting away veteran Beneil Dariush in the co-main event of UFC Perth and scoring another finish.

Dariush landed a body kick and jab early, stumbling Salkilld in the opening seconds before Dariush looked to use his grappling skillset. Salkilld was troubled but refused to let himself be taken down.

The second he worked his way out of Dariush’s grasp, however, Salkilld showed why he’s a rising star. He landed combinations that put Dariush down, finishing the veteran in one round.

Salkilld, who is likely to enter the UFC rankings, has now won 12 straight since dropping his professional debut. Salkilld is now 5-0 in the UFC, entering this fight off a submission of Jamie Mullarkey at UFC 325 in January.

Dariush has now lost four of his last five. He entered this fight off being finished in seconds by Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 322 in November.

Quillan Salkilld brought out another big performance to kick off the main card at UFC 325, submitting Jamie Mullarkey in about three minutes.

Salkilld got to Mullarkey’s back early, but Mullarkey managed to get Salkilld’s back against the fence. Mullarkey scored a takedown, but Salkilld worked his way back up quickly.

Mullarkey pressed Salkilld into the fence again, but it was Salkilld who got the action down with a slam, and he was right back on Mullarkey’s back. Salkilld then quickly locked up a choke to solidify the victory.

VIDEO: Quillan Salkilld Lands Horrifying Head-Kick KO On Nasrat Haqparast At UFC 321

Quillan Salkilld only took his UFC 321 fight on 10 days’ notice, and he may have delivered a late entry for Knockout of the Year with this opportunity, landing a scary-looking knockout of Nasrat Haqparast in the featured prelim bout of UFC 321.

Haqparast seemed to be in control early on, landing a left hand while coming forward and stopping takedowns attempt by Salkilld. Salkilld, however, landed a perfectly-timed, perfectly-placed head kick that dropped Haqparast out cold.

Haqparast remained unconscious for several minutes before coming to a little after the UFC broadcast came back from commercial break.

Salkilld is now 3-0 in the UFC after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series last year. Earlier this year, he knocked out Anshul Jubli at UFC 312 and scored a decision win over Yanal Ashmouz at UFC 316.

This KO loss snaps a five-fight winning streak Haqparast entered this fight on.

Merab Dvalishvili Slams Controversial Stoppage At UFC 312: ‘Hate This!’

UFC Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili was not pleased to see one fighter’s outing at Saturday’s pay-per-view brought to a controversial end after just 19 seconds.

While the promotion’s second numbered event of the year — UFC 312 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia — wasn’t particularly thrilling or memorable, it certainly didn’t start slow.

Kicking off proceedings was a debuting local favorite in Quillan Salkilld, who needed just one strike to finish Anshul Jubli and announce his arrival on mixed martial arts’ biggest stage.

The Indian was badly dropped by a clean right hand but was quick to grab a leg as Salkilld jumped on him. The referee, however, immediately decided he had seen enough and called off the bout.

Jubli furiously protested the result, and his claim of an early stoppage has been backed by plenty in the community. That includes one prominent peer in Dvalishvili, who slammed the referee’s intervention in a post on X.

“Work so hard in training camp and gets an early stoppage … hate this ! #UFC312

Dvalishvili frequently calls out stoppages he perceives to be early, having seen firsthand the effects of controversial finishes back in 2023 when teammate Aljamain Sterling was unseated from the bantamweight throne by Sean O’Malley.

Australian Debutant Sends Crowd Wild At UFC 312 With Knockout From First Punch Of The Night

Things got off to a fast start at UFC 312 — first punch of the night, fast.

Lightweight prospect Quillan Salkilld needed just one strike and 19 seconds to make a statement in his debut at Saturday’s pay-per-view Down Under in Sydney, Australia.

The Perth native, who earned a contract by way of Dana White’s Contender Series, opened his Octagon account in style, flooring Anshul Jubli with a clean right hand on home soil.

Despite the Indian fighter immediately looking to grapple his way out of the situation, the referee had seen enough.

25-year-old Salkilld is now 8-1 as a professional, with six of his wins coming via finishes. Jubli, meanwhile, has lost back-to-back fights since winning the Road to UFC tournament.

Tonight’s UFC 312 PPV will be headlined by two title fights, with Dricus Du Plessis defending his middleweight belt in a rematch against Sean Strickland and strawweight queen Zhang Weili facing a challenge from undefeated contender Tatiana Suarez.
