    Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC champion Quinton Jackson, has accepted a plea agreement stemming from the brutal in-ring assault of independent wrestler Stuart Smith during a 2025 wrestling event in Los Angeles.

    The 26-year-old entered a no-contest plea to a felony charge of battery causing serious bodily injury after initially pleading not guilty in the case. Prosecutors also stated that Jackson admitted to additional allegations related to violent conduct and personally inflicting major injuries during the attack.

    According to reports from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Jackson is expected to receive a 90-day county jail sentence, two years of formal probation, and more than $81,000 in restitution when he is officially sentenced later this month.

    Violent Wrestling Incident Led To Criminal Charges

    The case originates from a chaotic altercation at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in August 2025, where Jackson attacked Smith during what was initially supposed to be a scripted wrestling segment.

    Video footage from the event showed Jackson slamming Smith before unloading a barrage of punches while the wrestler appeared defenseless on the mat. Witnesses and reports later indicated that Smith absorbed more than 20 unanswered strikes before other wrestlers physically intervened to stop the attack.

    Smith was rushed to a hospital and later revealed the extent of his injuries, which included severe jaw trauma, facial fractures, a split upper lip, and the loss of multiple teeth.

    The incident reportedly escalated from an earlier confrontation outside the venue. Smith had struck Jackson with a beer can during a promotional interaction, allegedly mistaking him for another wrestler involved in the show. Although footage later showed the two shaking hands afterward, Jackson was reportedly heard on a livestream threatening to get “real” revenge once he entered the ring.

    Authorities later issued a warrant for Jackson’s arrest, leading to his eventual detainment at his California residence weeks after the assault.

    The situation also drew a public response from his father, Rampage Jackson, who openly criticized his son’s actions at the time and stated that he believed Raja deserved punishment for going too far.

    Mere hours after being taken into custody, Raja Jackson is back home.

    Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, Jackson was arrested on a felony charge of battery with serious bodily injury nearly a month after he viciously attacked Stuart Smith (also known as Syko Stu) at a professional wrestling event in the Sun Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles. TMZ released footage of the arrest, which took place in Huntington Beach, California. According to the report, Jackson was transported roughly 50 miles north and booked at a jail in Pacoima.

    Jackson was held for several hours on $50,000 bail, but ultimately bonded out at some point overnight.

    ‘Rampage’ Comments on Raja Jackson’s Arrest

    While Raja Jackson has not publicly commented on the situation, his father and former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has been very forthcoming about the fact that his son “f*cked up” and should pay the price for his actions.

    “I’m doing OK, I’m holding up well,” ‘Rampage’ said in a statement … adding he understands the situation is no longer under his control. “He f***ed up, he f***ed up. He gotta learn his lesson. It is what it is, all I can do is be a dad. He don’t listen to me, at the end of the day, he can’t say I didn’t do what I was supposed to do as a dad.”

    Following a backstage altercation between the two at the KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, Jackson slid into the ring during Smith’s match roughly an hour later, picked him up, and violently slammed him to the mat before unleashing more than 20 full-forcing punches to the unconscious wrestler. Eventually, Jackson was pulled off of Smith by other wrestlers before fleeing the scene.

    Smith spent several days in intensive care before being released on August 31. He later detailed his injuries on social media, revealing he sustained a “serious head injury, … trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth,” according to a post on his Instagram.

    Jackson, the son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, was involved in an incident at a Knokx Pro Wrestling event. During what had been an agreed upon run-in for the show, Jackson came into the ring and slammed wrestler Syko Stu — real name Stuart Smith — with such strength that Stu was legitimately knocked unconscious.

    Jackson then proceeded to rain down blows on Smith, landing about two dozen punches before other wrestlers intervened to separate the two. The whole incident was captured on Jackson’s streaming account.

    Raja Jackson Jailed Following Syko Stu Incident

    The incident came as a result of a miscommunication that occurred that morning, with Smith hitting Jackson after mistaking him for a wrestler who was going to be part of the show.

    The two had agreed to work the incident into an angle on the program, although another wrestler during the livestream seemed to encourage Jackson to make sure Smith got a “receipt” for the incident.

    Smith spent several days in the hospital with various injuries, at one point being in critical condition, but has since been released.

    As a result of the incident, WWE, the UFC’s partner company under the TKO umbrella, cut ties with the Knokx Pro Wrestling promotion, which had been associated with the WWE ID (Independent Development) program.

    “He dishonored my name. I’m not cutting him off forever. I just haven’t talked to him. I talked to him after the s*** happened, and he hid the fact that he did this s***, and he put my other kids in danger, based off what the other people are saying [threatening them online]. I just can’t talk to him right now. “I need some time. I’m dealing with his attorneys and all this s***. I’m very disappointed in Raja. I’m not a perfect parent, so I don’t know what the protocol is to stop talking to your son when he f***ing goes out there and hurts somebody. He put the guy in the f***ing hospital.”

    Syko Stu Home Recovering After Tooth Loss And Fractured Maxilla Bone

    Syko Stu, together with his partner Contessa Patterson, took to social media on Sunday to share an update with fans. The U.S. Army veteran turned pro wrestler confirmed in a statement that he had finally been released from the hospital after being seriously injured during Raja Jackson’s assault.

    The post detailed that while Syko Stu is recovering well, he endured significant injuries, including fractured jaws, a broken maxilla bone, and the loss of several teeth.

    “Stuart has been released from the hospital and is now home resting. He sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER. His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.

    “He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through. We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we’ve received during this time.     Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department continues to probe Jackson’s actions, though no charges have been filed against him so far.

The former UFC middleweight champion suggested that while Jackson should face consequences, but the best course of action would be rehabilitation rather than prison.

    Drawing from his own experiences, Strickland argued that prison often hardens people instead of rehabilitating them and suggested that MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s son should be offered an opportunity for reform.

    “Jackson’s kid [Raja Jackson] shouldn’t go to jail. Prison should always be a last resort. I was arrested at 19 for two felonies, a GBI. I would have spent 5 to 6 years in prison if the DA had its way. After 6 years in a cell, coming out with nothing, being indoctrinated with gangs and violence, I guarantee I would have killed someone. There was one guy telling me about how he picked up a murder charge, and I remembered being impressed by him. That would have been my future.

    “Instead, I pled and took 100 days in jail or work release, a ton of anger management, and a decent amount of victim restitution after a miserable two years of court. Luckily, a lawyer took my case for free because I didn’t have a dollar to my name. Bottom line is, it’s not about the person in prison it’s about who they become when they’re out of prison, and I believe if I wasn’t offered that deal, I would be dead today and more than likely would have resulted in someone else’s death as well. My two cents… Rehabilitation over prison always,” Strickland wrote on X.

    Raja Jackson is now involved in a police investigation tied to this attack which was broadcast live on the streaming platform Kick which saw several pro wrestlers break up the attack. Knokx Pro Wrestling was the promotion this incident happened in and they have released a statement disavowing the behaviour shown at the recent show.

    An angle involving Smith hitting Jackson with a beer can over his haad was said to be a planned incident to build to what would have been a worked match but that clearly went out the window. Some wrestlers who were involved in the show also mentioned that Smith was dealing with broken bones in his face as well as several missing teeth, reportedly.
