Did Raja Jackson Avoid Serious Prison Time For Violent Attack On Wrestler Syko Stu? Here Are the Reported Terms

Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC champion Quinton Jackson, has accepted a plea agreement stemming from the brutal in-ring assault of independent wrestler Stuart Smith during a 2025 wrestling event in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old entered a no-contest plea to a felony charge of battery causing serious bodily injury after initially pleading not guilty in the case. Prosecutors also stated that Jackson admitted to additional allegations related to violent conduct and personally inflicting major injuries during the attack.

According to reports from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Jackson is expected to receive a 90-day county jail sentence, two years of formal probation, and more than $81,000 in restitution when he is officially sentenced later this month.

Violent Wrestling Incident Led To Criminal Charges

The case originates from a chaotic altercation at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in August 2025, where Jackson attacked Smith during what was initially supposed to be a scripted wrestling segment.

Video footage from the event showed Jackson slamming Smith before unloading a barrage of punches while the wrestler appeared defenseless on the mat. Witnesses and reports later indicated that Smith absorbed more than 20 unanswered strikes before other wrestlers physically intervened to stop the attack.

Smith was rushed to a hospital and later revealed the extent of his injuries, which included severe jaw trauma, facial fractures, a split upper lip, and the loss of multiple teeth.

The incident reportedly escalated from an earlier confrontation outside the venue. Smith had struck Jackson with a beer can during a promotional interaction, allegedly mistaking him for another wrestler involved in the show. Although footage later showed the two shaking hands afterward, Jackson was reportedly heard on a livestream threatening to get “real” revenge once he entered the ring.

Authorities later issued a warrant for Jackson’s arrest, leading to his eventual detainment at his California residence weeks after the assault.

The situation also drew a public response from his father, Rampage Jackson, who openly criticized his son’s actions at the time and stated that he believed Raja deserved punishment for going too far.

After Arrest, Raja Jackson Has Now Been Released on Bail Thanks to ‘Rampage’

Mere hours after being taken into custody, Raja Jackson is back home.

Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, Jackson was arrested on a felony charge of battery with serious bodily injury nearly a month after he viciously attacked Stuart Smith (also known as Syko Stu) at a professional wrestling event in the Sun Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles. TMZ released footage of the arrest, which took place in Huntington Beach, California. According to the report, Jackson was transported roughly 50 miles north and booked at a jail in Pacoima.

Jackson was held for several hours on $50,000 bail, but ultimately bonded out at some point overnight.

‘Rampage’ Comments on Raja Jackson’s Arrest

While Raja Jackson has not publicly commented on the situation, his father and former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has been very forthcoming about the fact that his son “f*cked up” and should pay the price for his actions.

“I’m doing OK, I’m holding up well,” ‘Rampage’ said in a statement … adding he understands the situation is no longer under his control. “He f***ed up, he f***ed up. He gotta learn his lesson. It is what it is, all I can do is be a dad. He don’t listen to me, at the end of the day, he can’t say I didn’t do what I was supposed to do as a dad.”

Following a backstage altercation between the two at the KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, Jackson slid into the ring during Smith’s match roughly an hour later, picked him up, and violently slammed him to the mat before unleashing more than 20 full-forcing punches to the unconscious wrestler. Eventually, Jackson was pulled off of Smith by other wrestlers before fleeing the scene.

Smith spent several days in intensive care before being released on August 31. He later detailed his injuries on social media, revealing he sustained a “serious head injury, … trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth,” according to a post on his Instagram.

Raja Jackson Arrested, Being Held On $50,000 Bond

Raja Jackson has been arrested as a result of his beatdown of wrestler Syko Stu during a professional wrestling event held in late August.

Per a report from TMZ, Jackson was taken into custody on the morning of September 18 and faces a felony charge. As of the evening, Jackson is still in jail and is currently being held on $50,000 bond.

Jackson, the son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, was involved in an incident at a Knokx Pro Wrestling event. During what had been an agreed upon run-in for the show, Jackson came into the ring and slammed wrestler Syko Stu — real name Stuart Smith — with such strength that Stu was legitimately knocked unconscious.

Jackson then proceeded to rain down blows on Smith, landing about two dozen punches before other wrestlers intervened to separate the two. The whole incident was captured on Jackson’s streaming account.

Raja Jackson Jailed Following Syko Stu Incident

The incident came as a result of a miscommunication that occurred that morning, with Smith hitting Jackson after mistaking him for a wrestler who was going to be part of the show.

The two had agreed to work the incident into an angle on the program, although another wrestler during the livestream seemed to encourage Jackson to make sure Smith got a “receipt” for the incident.

Smith spent several days in the hospital with various injuries, at one point being in critical condition, but has since been released.

As a result of the incident, WWE, the UFC’s partner company under the TKO umbrella, cut ties with the Knokx Pro Wrestling promotion, which had been associated with the WWE ID (Independent Development) program.

Syko Stu Details Brutal Injuries Caused By Raja Jackson After Being Released From Hospital

Syko Stu (real name Stuart Smith) has been discharged from the hospital following the harrowing incident.

Last month, the pro wrestler found himself at the center of chaos during a KnokX Pro Wrestling show in Los Angeles. What began as playful banter with Raja Jackson, who was live streaming the night on his KICK channel, was momentarily diffused, only to resurface later.

Still fuming, Jackson was given the green light by the promotion to exact scripted revenge on Stu, setting the stage for a dramatic in-ring showdown that played off their earlier clash.

However, the playful banter quickly got out of hand after Jackson was given the green light by a production staffer. Fired up by backstage tensions and encouraged by his livestream audience, the son of former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson carried the fight into the ring, slamming Syko Stu hard to the mat and unleashing a series of unanswered punches that left him unconscious before other wrestlers rushed in to stop the assault.

Syko Stu, together with his partner Contessa Patterson, took to social media on Sunday to share an update with fans. The U.S. Army veteran turned pro wrestler confirmed in a statement that he had finally been released from the hospital after being seriously injured during Raja Jackson’s assault.

The post detailed that while Syko Stu is recovering well, he endured significant injuries, including fractured jaws, a broken maxilla bone, and the loss of several teeth.

“Stuart has been released from the hospital and is now home resting. He sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER. His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.

“He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through. We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we’ve received during this time. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way—whether through monetary donations, food, flowers, or gifts. Your kindness means more than words can express. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. With love and respect, Contessa Patterson & Stuart Smith (aka SykoStu).”

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department continues to probe Jackson’s actions, though no charges have been filed against him so far.

Quinton Jackson Speaks On Raja Jackson’s Assault On Wrestler Syko Stu – ‘I Don’t Condone What My Son Did’

Quinton Jackson is seeking forgiveness in wake of his son’s shocking actions.

Last weekend, the former UFC champion’s son, Raja Jackson, attended a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in Los Angeles, streaming the night live on his KICK channel. During the event, he clashed with wrestler Stuart Smith, aka Syko Stu, in a heated altercation that was briefly defused. Still unsettled, Raja was later cleared by the promotion to deliver a scripted payback, staging a dramatic in-ring clash as a continuation of the earlier dispute.

However, what was meant to be harmless scripted banter quickly descended into chaos once Raja received the green light from a production staffer. Still fueled by his backstage tensions and egged on by his livestream audience, Jackson Jr. dragged the animosity into the ring, slamming Stu hard onto the canvas before unleashing a relentless barrage of unanswered punches that left him unconscious until other wrestlers intervened.

While “Rampage” initially offered a measured response to the incident, he now had more to share publicly.

Quinton Jackson Breaks Silence After Son Raja’s Assault in Wrestling Ring

During a recent live stream on his KICK channel, Quinton Jackson addressed Raja’s attack on Syko Stu, grappling with his roles as both a father and a public figure. While he strongly condemned his son’s violent actions, he expressed a desire for reconciliation with the U.S. Army veteran turned pro wrestler.

“I feel bad about what happened to Syko Stu,” Quinton Jackson said. “I don’t condone what my son did at all… I’m a father, so you know I gotta have my son’s back. But I’m gonna let justice play out. Being a father in hard moments like this, sometimes you’re proud of your kid and sometimes you’re not. At the end of the day you’re still a father… Hopefully one day I can meet SykoStu and shake his hand. I hope Syko Stu can forgive me as a dad for not understanding everything. Let’s see what happens”.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department continues its investigation into Raja’s conduct, while it was confirmed on Wednesday that Stu has regained consciousness and is now able to communicate with his loved ones at the hospital.

  • Raja Jackson’s Attack On Pro Wrestler Syko Stu Prompts Sean Strickland To Advocate ‘Rehabilitation Over Prison’

Raja Jackson’s Attack On Pro Wrestler Syko Stu Prompts Sean Strickland To Advocate ‘Rehabilitation Over Prison’

Sean Strickland shared an opinion on Raja Jackson’s incident that some may find shocking.

Last Saturday in Los Angeles, Jackson attended a KnokX Pro Wrestling event while live-streaming it on his KICK channel, where he had a tense backstage confrontation with wrestler Stuart Smith, AKA Syko Stu. He then got the go-ahead from the promotion to perform a staged double-leg takedown and simulate an assault on Stu as a response to the earlier altercation.

However, as the match started, a scripted storyline meant to mix fiction with reality, common in pro wrestling, quickly spiraled out of control. Jackson carried his backstage tension into the ring and, seemingly provoked by his stream viewers, slammed Stu onto the canvas and unleashed a flurry of heavy, unanswered punches before other wrestlers stepped in to pull him off.

Stu’s brother, Andrew Smith, has been keeping fans informed through Facebook posts, sharing on Monday that the U.S. Army veteran turned wrestler is now conscious and retains some memory of the events from the day of the attack.

Meanwhile, Raja Jackson has drawn widespread criticism from the combat sports community and the public for his shocking actions, yet Strickland has offered a polarizing perspective.

Sean Strickland Believes Jail Isn’t The Answer For Raja Jackson After Brutal Attack

Amid media reports that the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating Raja Jackson’s attack on Syko Stu, Sean Strickland took to social media to weigh in. The former UFC middleweight champion suggested that while Jackson should face consequences, but the best course of action would be rehabilitation rather than prison.

Drawing from his own experiences, Strickland argued that prison often hardens people instead of rehabilitating them and suggested that MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s son should be offered an opportunity for reform.

“Jackson’s kid [Raja Jackson] shouldn’t go to jail. Prison should always be a last resort. I was arrested at 19 for two felonies, a GBI. I would have spent 5 to 6 years in prison if the DA had its way. After 6 years in a cell, coming out with nothing, being indoctrinated with gangs and violence, I guarantee I would have killed someone. There was one guy telling me about how he picked up a murder charge, and I remembered being impressed by him. That would have been my future.

“Instead, I pled and took 100 days in jail or work release, a ton of anger management, and a decent amount of victim restitution after a miserable two years of court. Luckily, a lawyer took my case for free because I didn’t have a dollar to my name. Bottom line is, it’s not about the person in prison it’s about who they become when they’re out of prison, and I believe if I wasn’t offered that deal, I would be dead today and more than likely would have resulted in someone else’s death as well. My two cents… Rehabilitation over prison always,” Strickland wrote on X.
