‘Hawk Tuah Girl’ Hailey Welch Trains MMA At Renzo Gracie LA Ahead Of Potential Combat Sports Venture: ‘Jon Jones, Where You At Motherf**ker?’

Hailey Welch has become one of the most talked about people on the planet in recent months following her viral street interview.

Better known as “Hawk Tuah Girl”, her profile has drastically climbed following her now iconic line and in a bizarre turn of events, has somehow taken a combat sports route.

Welch has spoken about potentially competing in what could go on to be the best example of someone with a large following deciding to turn that popularity into promoting a fight of some kind.

Given her profile, it’s not surprising that there would be plenty of fighters who would be willing to put their hands up for the match-up.

She was recently called out by influencer and OnlyFans star Astrid Wett, who has crossed over into the world of celebrity boxing.

A recent video posted by Welch points towards an MMA fight being in her future, even if it is clear from the start that it shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Hailey Welch Drills Muay Thai Fundamentals Amidst Combat Sports Debut Talk

A recent video posted by Welch on X shows her training out of the Renzo Gracie L.A. gym, as the coach helps to teach her and a friend some basic Muay Thai techniques.

After practicing a few combinations with some knees and elbows thrown in for good measure, they put their newfound skills to good use by teaming up to beat down their sparring partner.

The video even ends with Welch calling out arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all the time, the current UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.

“I feel like I’m a brand new woman now. Jon Jones, where you at m***********?”

    https://twitter.com/HalieyWelchX/status/1823750425604239398

Though it doesn’t seem clear whether she is entirely serious about stepping inside a cage or ring at some point soon, it doesn’t appear that this is necessarily a cash grab attempt based on her popularity.

As several of the replies on social media echo, Welch is having just having fun.

“Haliey is literally just living her best life now.”

  • Former UFC Champion Reacts To Jake Paul Making Olympics 2028 Gold Medal Prediction: ‘He Wouldn’t Be Able To Cherry Pick Opponents…’

Michael Bisping recently expressed his reservations about Jake Paul’s ambitions to compete in boxing at the 2028 Olympics.

In the latest episode of his podcast, “The Problem Child” voiced his frustration with the underwhelming performance of American boxers at the Paris Olympics. He stated that the setback has ignited his desire to throw his hat into the ring for the upcoming Summer Games in Los Angeles, United States, four years from now.

“I’m going to enter the 2028 Olympics for boxing in Los Angeles,” Paul said. “I’m sick and tired of waiting around, waiting for another gold for Team U.S.A. … I probably just added a couple more years on to my boxing career because of that, but Los Angeles, United States, sick as f**k.

Paul’s quest for a gold medal is fueled by the fact that the U.S. has not claimed a boxing medal in the heavyweight division since Deontay Wilder secured a bronze in 2008. The last time an American heavyweight struck gold was when Ray Mercer triumphed in 1988 against Tommy Morrison.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer has emerged as one of the most prominent figures in the influencer boxing scene, boasting a 10-1 career record, highlighted by a TKO victory over Mike Perry on June 20. However, of his 11 bouts, six have been against opponents with five or fewer professional boxing matches under their belts, including notable retired MMA stars like Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Ben Askren.

Paul usually competes at around 200 pounds, placing him in the heavyweight division should he ever qualify for the Olympics. However, the road ahead will be long and challenging. To even reach the Olympic trials, American boxers must meet six stringent eligibility requirements and secure a top-two finish in a qualifier tournament within an Olympic weight category.

“The Count” insists that making it to the Olympics is no small feat, and Paul won’t have the advantages he enjoyed under his own banner, Most Valuable Promotions…

Bisping Doubts Paul Can Handle Rigors Of Olympic Boxing Standards

During a recent video on his YouTube channel, Bisping responded to Paul’s ambitions of competing in the 2028 Summer Olympics. The former UFC middleweight champion acknowledged the success and fame “The Problem Child” has achieved in his professional boxing career but pointed out that to contend in such elite sporting events, Paul would need to measure up to some of the greatest boxers of all time.

“Fair enough, the man wants to go and compete in the Olympics, and you know what, I’ve actually got a lot of respect for him,” Bisping said. “Jake Paul is kind of doing it the opposite way around because he’s very famous, he’s had a lot of professional boxing fights, and he’s going to go to the amateurs. But the guy that just won the Olympic gold medal has actually had four professional boxing bouts as well. Now, if Jake Paul were to win the Olympics, I mean, that would be incredible, and he would join the likes of the great Muhammad Ali, the GOAT George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Oscar De La Hoya, Lennox Lewis, Pernell Whitaker, Mark Breland—the list goes on and on.”

However, the UFC Hall of Famer went on to highlight that the real test for Paul in competing at the Olympics isn’t just about his skill in the ring. The true challenge will be stepping outside the comfort of his own promotions, enduring the grind of fighting day after day, and managing the rigorous weight cuts required to qualify for the competition.

“For Jake Paul, if you did go and fight in the Olympics, well, first of all, it wouldn’t be his promotion, would it? So he wouldn’t be able to cherry-pick opponents; he wouldn’t be able to take people that are way past their sell-by date, like Mike Tyson. If he goes to the Olympics, a lot of things will change, that’s for sure. Number one, he wouldn’t be able to cut weight because, in the Olympics, you’re going to have to box every few days. It wouldn’t be his promotion, so everything’s not going to be centered around him. There wouldn’t be a massive payday on display; he will be doing it literally to represent his country, to test himself, and potentially to become an Olympic gold medalist.”

Paul is scheduled to take on former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, marking the first-ever combat sports event to stream live on Netflix.

“The Problem Child” has faced significant criticism for consistently choosing opponents much older than himself, particularly in this matchup with “Iron Mike”, who is a staggering 31 years his senior.

  • Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov Undercard Preview

Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov Undercard Preview

Boxing superstar Terence Crawford will make his long-awaited return to the ring this Saturday. He takes on Israil Madrimov for the WBA Super Welterweight Championship and the vacant WBO Interim World Super Welterweight Championship at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

While all eyes will be on the main event, fans are also excited about the matchups on the undercard. One of the anticipated bout will feature Andy Ruiz Jr. facing Jarrell Miller in an interesting heavyweight contest

Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Jarrell Miller

Ruiz Jr. returns to the boxing ring after nearly two years of absence from competition. His last fight was a unanimous decision win against Luis Ortiz on September 4, 2022. Since then, he’s been looking for a big fight with Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, or even his former rival Anthony Joshua. In addition to being unsuccessful in securing a fight with another heavyweight superstar, Ruiz Jr.’s inactivity has removed him from title opportunities.

The comeback fight against Miller will test whether the former champion can still threaten the rest of the division. That said, “Big Baby” isn’t an easy opponent to return against. Although Miller lost his fight against Daniel Dubious by TKO on December 23, 2023, he had moments where he hurt the current IBF World Heavyweight Champion.

DraftKings currently has the “Destroyer” victorious on Saturday. However, it’s unclear if his time away from competition will affect his performance.

Other Key Matchups On The Undercard

Elsewhere on the card, there are more fights that fans will be intrigued to watch. Here are some of the key matchups on the undercard:

    • Vacant WBA Light Heavyweight Championship: David Morrell (10-0) vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic (29-2)

Morrell will try to get his seventh straight knockout win this Saturday. Kalajdzic has more professional experience than his opponent, but Morrell’s punching power can be difficult to handle.

    • IBF International & WBA Continental Latin-American Lightweight Championship: Andy Cruz (3-0) vs. Antonio Moran (30-6-1)

Undefeated with three wins, Cruz will put his title on the line against Moran. Both fighters come into the matchup having won the last fight and try to get a statement win to put the division on notice.

    • USWBC & WBO International Heavyweight Championship: Jared Anderson (17-0) vs. Martin Bakole (20-1)

Anderson will take the next step toward becoming a title contender by taking on Bakole to open the main card. Both heavyweights have a record of 15 knockouts, so it’s possible the bout will not go the distance.

  • Dana White Laughs Off Alex Pereira vs. Jake Paul Fight: ‘I Stopped Paying Attention When He Lost To Fury’

Dana White Laughs Off Alex Pereira vs. Jake Paul Fight: ‘I Stopped Paying Attention When He Lost To Fury’

Many combat sports fans have criticized Jake Paul for the opponents that he tends to face when stepping inside the ring.

Whilst the amount of experience he has means that he can’t be expected to take on top tier opponents, he tends to fight opponents that shouldn’t be in there with him.

Paul also has a track record for calling out some of the biggest names despite there being very little chance that the fight would actually come together.

This was once again the case following his recent win over Mike Perry, where he called out one of the biggest stars in the UFC right now, light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.

Pereira unsurprisingly instantly responded but Dana White hasn’t given the idea much thought.

Dana White Says He Doesn’t Think About Jake Paul Anymore

In a recent interview with TNT Sports, White was asked whether this is something he would consider just to silence Paul once and for all by putting the Pereira fight together.

The UFC boss has been very open about his dislike for what “The Problem Child” is doing in combat sports and therefore hasn’t been paying much attention.

He made it clear that giving Pereira a pass to go and box Paul isn’t an option that has ever been thought about because White tapped out of caring about the social media star’s boxing career long ago.

“I haven’t even talked to Perry in a long time and I didn’t even know Jake Paul was fighting. I was on vacation in Italy, I had no idea. There’s all these stories that were written, it’s ridiculous. I stopped paying attention to Jake Paul when he lost to Fury, you know what I mean. It’s like when he fought somebody that was his age and actually boxed, he lost and I’m not s******* on the kid, I don’t even think about him anymore.

“It doesn’t even cross my mind. I have no beef with him. ‘They’re trying to get me assassinated’. Nobody’s trying to get you assassinated especially, listen, I respect Perry. Smaller, older, I mean it’s the same blueprint that they’re fighting older, smaller guys that, it’s just I literally don’t even think about him anymore. It’s all b*******.”

  • Francis Ngannou On People’s Doubts About Boxing Venture: ‘There Is Not A Fight On Earth That I Have Zero Chance In’

Francis Ngannou On People’s Doubts About Boxing Venture: ‘There Is Not A Fight On Earth That I Have Zero Chance In’

Regardless of his boxing record through two fights, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has no doubts about his ability to compete with the very best inside the ring.

Ngannou has gone 0-2 in pro boxing since departing the UFC as champ in early 2023, but that certainly doesn’t show the whole story of his short career in the squared circle to date.

After signing an exclusive MMA deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) last May that includes the freedom to box, “The Predator” completed his long-desired foray to the ring five months later to square off against then-WBC heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.

The Cameroonian went above and beyond expectation, first by knocking “The Gypsy King” down early on and going on to reach the distance in a competitive 10-round affair. Many even believe Ngannou deserved the nod.

While he was able to prove his detractors wrong first time around, Ngannou’s sophomore boxing outing didn’t go to plan. The ex-UFC star was emphatically beaten by Anthony Joshua this past March, suffering a brutal knockout early into round two.

That result brought Ngannou’s doubters back out of the woodwork, with some suggesting he never had a chance against the former two-time unified heavyweight titleholder while branding his performance against Fury as the product of his opponent underestimating him.

According to Ngannou, however, there’s not an opponent in the world whom he’d have “zero chance” against…

Ngannou Defends Decision To Box Joshua

During an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, Ngannou reflected on his first two bouts as a pro boxer, which ended in vastly different fashions.

“The Predator” acknowledged the doubt many had leading into his debut opposite Fury, as well as the feelings those same individuals have shared since his brutal setback to Joshua five months later.

“It was like, ‘Okay, we want it to happen? Then make it happen,’” Ngannou said of his clash with Fury. “I think a lot of people do mistake something. … If anybody hits you, you’re gonna get hurt, you know? Yes, I might not have been doing boxing; I’m not a boxer. But still, I am a fighter. And even if I wasn’t a fighter, I can hurt and I can harm somebody.

“I was watching and people were like, ‘No, he stands no chance, he has zero chance!’ There is not a fight on Earth that I have zero chance. That element of zero chance does not exist,” Ngannou continued. “If you look at it, I’m a man. Two men together, someone might have more technique, might know the sport. But even if I’ve never been in the gym, you still better watch out; I still have a chance. Maybe not as much, maybe not equal chance, but I still do have a chance.”

For now, Ngannou will seemingly put down the boxing gloves and return his gaze to the cage, where he made his name as one of the hardest hitters in combat sports.

After 2022 PFL champ Renan Ferreira stopped Bellator kingpin Ryan Bader in seconds this past February, he looks set to cash in on his reward by sharing the cage with Ngannou at an expected pay-per-view event in Saudi Arabia this October.

  • Mike Perry Tells Jake Paul Injury Sustained 10 Seconds Into Fight Affected Performance: ‘You Popped It Right Away!’

Mike Perry Tells Jake Paul Injury Sustained 10 Seconds Into Fight Affected Performance: ‘You Popped It Right Away!’

Mike Perry may have been unsuccessful in his fight with Jake Paul but he still received praise for his toughness.

“Platinum” may not be an experienced boxer or someone that can match Paul for size but he was always going to be a tough opponent to get out of there.

He did eventually get stopped in the sixth round but as expected with someone like Perry, many would have crumbled much earlier on.

What makes this even more impressive, and something that Perry is able to take out of this fight, is that he was compromised from the very first punch that his opponent landed.

Mike Perry Reveals That Jake Paul Broke His Rib With The First Punch That He Landed

Perry appeared on BS w/ Jake Paul where they spoke about the fight and revealed new details about how it all went down.

During the podcast, the former UFC fighter said that he is going to take some time off for his rib to recover after it was broken in the opening 10 seconds of the fight.

He said that he was so focused on keeping his hands up that it left an opening for Paul which he successfully took advantage of from the opening bell.

With his body badly injured, Perry was forced to drop his guard which left him more susceptible to head strikes which eventually closed the show on him.

“First 10 seconds, that first punch you hit me with, you popped me. Because look, I knew people were going to be like, ‘Put your hands up,’ Right, so I come out and I’m like this with my hands up and my rib was wide open. You hit me in the rib and I was like, ‘F*** that’s it, I’m putting my hands down.’ You popped it right away and I fought through it I mean there’s something, there’s pieces I can take that I can be proud of but you know, I think it was fair and square.”

  • IOC Explains Why Boxers Who Failed Gender Test At World Championships Are Cleared To Compete At The Olympics

IOC Explains Why Boxers Who Failed Gender Test At World Championships Are Cleared To Compete At The Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently announced that two boxers, previously disqualified from last year’s World Championships due to failing gender eligibility tests, are now cleared to compete in the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics.

Algerian amateur boxer Imane Khelif faced disqualification just hours before her gold medal match at the women’s World Championships in New Delhi last year, having failed a testosterone (Hyperandrogenism) level test mandated by the International Boxing Association (IBA).

Similarly, Taiwan’s double world champion, Lin Yu Ting, was stripped of her bronze medal at the same event due to gender eligibility issues.

During that period, IBA president Umar Kremlev revealed that the boxers had “XY chromosomes.” The World Championships, organized by the IBA — a federation now stripped of IOC recognition — highlighted the ongoing controversy over qualification standards.

IOC Verifies Boxers’ Compliance With Competition Eligibility Rules

The IOC recently issued an official statement declaring that all athletes competing in the boxing tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games unequivocally meet the competition’s stringent eligibility and entry criteria.

Furthermore, these athletes meet all applicable medical regulations, ensuring a fair and standardized contest in alignment with international standards.

“All athletes participating in the boxing tournament of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 comply with the competition’s eligibility and entry regulations, as well as all applicable medical regulations in accordance with rules 1.4 and 3.1 of the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit.

“The PBU endeavored to restrict amendments to minimize the impact on athletes’ preparation and guaranteeing consistency between Olympic Games.”

    [h/t Independent]

Section 3.1 of these regulations mandates that all boxers must present a medical certificate, duly stamped and signed by an authorized medical professional, issued within the past three months.

Following the IOC’s clarification, Khelif is set to compete against Italy’s Angela Carini in a welterweight bout on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lin will face either Marcelat Sakobi from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or Sitora Turdibekova from Uzbekistan in the featherweight division on Friday.

The situation appears reminiscent of the controversy surrounding middle-distance runner Caster Semenya, a two-time Olympic gold medalist who was made to undergo sex testing following her victory at the 2009 World Championships.

The South African was cleared to return the following year, with reports later revealing that Semenya has the intersex condition 5α-Reductase 2 deficiency, which results in her natural testosterone levels sitting in the average male range.

The 33-year-old has been unable to participate since new World Athletics rules in 2019 prevented athletes with certain sex development disorders from competing in 400m, 800m, and 1500m events in the female classification unless they take medication to reduce testosterone.

  • Jake Paul & Mike Perry Discuss Conor McGregor’s ‘You’re Fired’ Tweet After Their Boxing Match

Jake Paul & Mike Perry Discuss Conor McGregor’s ‘You’re Fired’ Tweet After Their Boxing Match

Jake Paul and Mike Perry recently weighed in on Conor McGregor’s tweet about potentially firing “Platinum” from BKFC.

Perry squared off against “The Problem Child” in a 10-round cruiserweight boxing match last Saturday at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Despite his efforts, the former UFC welterweight fighter endured three knockdowns and ultimately succumbed to a sixth-round TKO.

To compound Perry’s misfortune, BKFC part-owner “The Notorious” swiftly took to X to declare, “You’re fired,” seemingly ousting Perry from the bare-knuckle promotion. He didn’t stop there, going on to mock Perry’s newly launched hybrid boxing venture, Dirty Boxing Championship, with biting remarks.

However, at the post-fight press conference, “Platinum” dismissed McGregor’s claims, asserting that the former two-division UFC champion can’t simply fire him, as he, too, holds part ownership in BKFC.

Perry Insists McGregor’s Statements Are Just For Attention

During a recent appearance on BS w/ Jake Paul, “Platinum” addressed McGregor’s apparent attempt to fire him from BKFC. Perry dismissed the notion, suggesting that the Irishman is just stirring the pot for attention. He emphasized that the fans want to see him fight in BKFC.

“I think it’s just, you know, he does that. He tweets and he gets people to attach to something, whatever he says,” Perry said. “He knows that we had that moment that night in history and it was what people were talking about, so he’s like, let me say something about it and talk sh*t about it and be his normal witty self. He said something that got people to tune into it because he’s like, oh, now Mike’s released from bare-knuckle. But let’s be honest, everybody wants to see me fight bare-knuckle again.”

“The Problem Child” agreed with Perry’s assertions and vehemently criticized McGregor for swiftly turning his back on BKFC’s undefeated star.

“I saw everyone being like ‘Yeah, Mike Perry is the BKFC,’ which is true,” Paul said. “I think it’s f*ked up of him to be like dck riding you all week, like ‘Look what the BKFC has done for Mike and he’s our biggest star,’ and then all of a sudden he throws you under the bus like that.”

Perry has experienced tremendous success since departing from the UFC in April 2021 and has risen to become the biggest star in BKFC. He boasts an undefeated 5-0 record, with victories over high-profile fighters such as Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Michael “Venom” Page.

  • Jake Paul Reveals Verbal Agreement With Mike Perry To Rematch In PFL, Dirty Boxing Down The Line

Jake Paul recently agreed in principle to a rematch with Mike Perry, which could first take place in PFL and then in “Platinum’s” new hybrid boxing promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship, at some point in the future.

“The Problem Child” delivered three knockdowns against the BKFC standout en route to sealing the victory with a relentless onslaught that resulted in a sixth-round TKO this past Saturday at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Paul was initially set to face boxing legend Mike Tyson on July 20. However, after “Iron Mike” suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight in May and was declared medically unfit, Perry answered the call to compete on short notice.

During the lead-up to their bout, the YouTuber-turned-boxer expressed a keen interest in potentially facing “Platinum” in either MMA or a bare-knuckle fight, determined to prove that he could defeat the former UFC welterweight fighter in any discipline.

However, in an interview with Ariel Helwani earlier this month, Perry dismissed the notion that Paul would ever seriously consider removing the gloves and facing him in a bare-knuckle fight.

Perry is anticipated to make his comeback to BKFC unless the promotion’s new co-owner, Conor McGregor, decides to act on his threat to fire him. Regardless, Perry’s future looks promising in combat sports, and it’s likely why Paul is eager for a rematch with him…

Paul Overlooks BKFC Fight with Perry Eyes PFL or Dirty Boxing Instead

“The Problem Child” recently took to X to shower Perry with praise for their boxing match, revealing that they have verbally agreed to a rematch under MMA rules in the PFL at an opportune moment.

“Chopped it up with Mike Perry last night. What a stand-up dude. More confidence than most of these fighters. We agreed to run it in PFL when the time is right.” Paul tweeted.

A fan commented on Paul’s post, questioning why the 27-year-old Ohio native didn’t consider fighting under bare-knuckle rules. Paul replied:

“If I’m stepping out of boxing, it’s going to be PFL. After that, we can do Dirty Boxing @PlatinumPerry”

In January 2023, Paul revealed that he had inked a deal with the PFL to compete in the special super-fight division. However, he has not yet to make his MMA debut, as his primary focus remains on his boxing career.

  • Former UFC Champion Feels Alex Pereira vs. Jake Paul Not A Foregone Conclusion: ‘I Don’t Think It’s An Unwinnable Fight For Jake’

Former UFC Champion Feels Alex Pereira vs. Jake Paul Not A Foregone Conclusion: ‘I Don’t Think It’s An Unwinnable Fight For Jake’

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman believes that the potential boxing match between Alex Pereira and Jake Paul is anything but predictable.

“The Problem Child” has persistently shown an avid fascination in taking on UFC stars in the boxing ring, and he’s already notched victories against retired fighters such as Ben Askren, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley (twice), and Nate Diaz.

However, after securing a sixth-round TKO over former UFC fighter Mike Perry in a cruiserweight bout last weekend, Paul shocked the combat sports world by calling out reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Pereira.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer connected with “Poatan” via FaceTime. During the call, he asked the Brazilian and his manager if Pereira could negotiate his release from the UFC to turn this crossover matchup into a reality.

Pereira shared his perspective of the call, capturing a moment of uncertainty as he glanced sideways at his manager. This subtle gesture likely hinted at the complexities involved in securing UFC CEO Dana White’s approval for the boxing match.

However, if the stars ever align, “The Nigerian Nightmare” holds a view contrary to the general consensus, believing that Paul has the potential to defeat striking phenom Pereira in a boxing showdown…

Usman Believes Paul’s Arsenal Has ‘Really Good’ Moves To Challenge Pereira

During a recent episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast with former two-division champion Henry Cejudo, Usman shared his thoughts on “The Problem Child’s” callout of Pereira for a boxing match. The former welterweight titleholder expressed skepticism about the potential clash, citing Paul’s strained relationship with White as a major obstacle.

“No, it won’t happen,” Usman said. “I just don’t think it’s… Jake Paul, in the name of promoting nowadays, has done a lot of things and said a lot of things about Dana White that I feel are Colby Covington-esque. In that case, you’ve put yourself off to where I don’t think Mr. Dana White ever wants to do business with you.”

“The Nigerian Nightmare” added that if the matchup were ever to materialize, Paul would stand a fair chance of overcoming Pereira with his slick jabs and diverse arsenal.

“I do believe Alex Pereira can win that fight, but I don’t think it’s an unwinnable fight for Jake Paul. Jake Paul definitely showed some really good things there, being able to stick by the jab. When he was able to commit to the jab, the jab was working. Yes, I know Alex Pereira is very good at doing the thing that gave Mike Perry success in that fight, but Alex Pereira also holds his hands very low.

“Yes, he has a mean left hook, but he also holds his hands very low. That head moves when he’s slipping and ripping, but other than that, it’s not like it’s constantly moving. It’s not constantly doing what a boxer’s head movement should be doing. So, I’m not completely counting Jake Paul out.”

Paul is slated to face boxing legend Mike Tyson in a rescheduled bout on November 15. The social media influencer is currently riding a four-win streak in his 11-fight career, marred by only one setback—a split decision loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023.

  • Sean O’Malley Thinks That Mike Perry Beats Jake Paul In Bare-Knuckle Boxing: ‘He’s The King Of That Sport’

Sean O’Malley Thinks That Mike Perry Beats Jake Paul In Bare-Knuckle Boxing: ‘He’s The King Of That Sport’

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley wasn’t impressed by what he saw from Mike Perry this past weekend in his boxing clash with Jake Paul.

Many expected that “Platinum” could prove to be a tough night for Paul because of his unwavering toughness and mentality but this wasn’t to be the case as he was stopped in the sixth round.

BKFC’s “King of Violence” certainly showed grit on Saturday night but his ability to take damage and keep on coming only got him so far.

Despite feeling like Perry looked somewhat of place in the ring with Paul, O’Malley did reaffirm that there’s a good reason for that.

Sean O’Malley Says That Mike Perry Was Fighting Out Of His Comfort Zone Against Jake Paul

Perry may have been different to Paul’s previous opponents in that he’s an active fighter that isn’t past his prime, but his lack of boxing experience, combined with a size difference between the two men, was simply too much for “Platinum” to overcome.

O’Malley did say that for how the fight ended up going for Perry, you can’t be too surprised given that he was out of his comfort zone in this fight to some degree.

The former UFC fighter has been incredibly successful in BKFC but removing the gloves changes everything specifically in regards to defense and shot selection.

O’Malley spoke on a recent episode of the TimboSugarShow about how just because Perry was outmatched on Saturday night, it doesn’t mean he couldn’t beat Paul if they were to fight in his more natural environment.

“The thing is Mike Perry would probably beat Jake Paul in bare knuckle boxing, that’s where Mike Perry is the f****** man, that’s where he is the champ. He’s the king of that sport so for him to come over into boxing, I didn’t expect too much. I’ve never seen Mike Perry hands up, throw a beautiful 1-2, slip, like that’s not really his style. He definitely didn’t look great.”

  • Israel Adesanya, Alex Pereira Among UFC Fighters Touted To Destroy Jake Paul In Boxing Match: ‘Too Quick, Too Slick, Too Fast, Too Technical’

Israel Adesanya, Alex Pereira Among UFC Fighters Touted To Destroy Jake Paul In Boxing Match: ‘Too Quick, Too Slick, Too Fast, Too Technical’

Michael Bisping contends that beyond the formidable Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya, a host of UFC fighters possess the prowess to beat down Jake Paul in the boxing ring.

It appears that the age-old rivalry between MMA and boxing continues to burn brightly, with “The Problem Child” fanning the flames. Following his sixth-round TKO victory over former UFC fighter Mike Perry in their cruiserweight boxing bout last weekend, Paul made some incendiary remarks that have ruffled feathers in the MMA community.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer has consistently expressed a keen interest in facing UFC fighters, with Conor McGregor frequently being mentioned as a desired opponent. However, this past Saturday, he surprised everyone by calling out a new challenger: the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion.

Despite “Poatan” being hailed as one of the most lethal strikers in the UFC today, Paul boldly declared during the post-event press conference that he would “decapitate and dethrone” the Brazilian in a potential boxing match. This audacious claim incensed former UFC middleweight champion Bisping…

Bisping Lists UFC Fighters Who Would Dominate Paul In Squared Circle

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Bisping weighed in on Paul’s callout of Pereira for a boxing match. “The Count” dissected “Poatan’s” impressive victories over renowned former champions like Adesanya, Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka, and Jamahal Hill. He confidently asserted that Pereira would undoubtedly outclass “The Problem Child” in the boxing ring.

“That is the craziest, most grandiose statement I have ever heard in my life,” Bisping said. “Alex Pereira is gigantic. Alex Pereira is way bigger than Jake Paul… Alex Pereira is a monster. Alex Pereira is not a blown-up lightweight; he’s a champion of two weight divisions and he’s beaten five former champions.

The UFC Hall of Famer added that all the fighters Pereira has defeated are equally capable of dismantling Paul in a boxing match, and they would do so in a resoundingly dominant fashion.

“All those people that I just mentioned would absolutely wipe the floor with Jake Paul. Jamahal Hill would brutalize him. Jiri Prochazka would marmalize him. Israel Adesanya would embarrass him from start to finish. Too quick, too slick, too fast, too technical.”

Paul has previously fought former UFC fighters Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley (twice), Nate Diaz, and Ben Askren, though all were notably beyond their prime.

Although the likelihood of a Pereira vs. Paul boxing match is slim due to the UFC’s stringent contracts, the Brazilian fighter appeared enthusiastic about the potential showdown in his brief video exchange with Paul.

  • Michael Bisping Brands Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Boxing Match A ‘Farce’, Berates Paul For  ‘Cherry Picking’ Opponents

Michael Bisping Brands Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Boxing Match A ‘Farce’, Berates Paul For  ‘Cherry Picking’ Opponents

Count former UFC champion Michael Bisping among those not impressed by YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul’s latest triumph inside the ring.

Paul’s trend of fighting and defeating mixed martial arts veterans continued this past weekend at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, which played host to “The Problem Child’s” 11th professional fight.

The ex-Disney star has notably built a record by beating prominent MMA names crossing over to the squared circle, such as Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz. And former UFC fighter-turned-BKFC star Mike Perry has now joined his list of victims.

Paul got the better of “Platinum” in the sixth round of their bout on Saturday, following earlier knockdowns with one final damaging blow to seal the deal against Perry, who stepped in on short notice following the postponement of Paul’s match with Mike Tyson.

But despite previously speaking highly of Perry’s chances, one former UFC champ has laid into Paul for the match…

Bisping: Paul vs. Perry Should Never Have Happened

During a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Bisping gave his take on the latest boxing success for Paul, whom “The Count” has gone back and forth with himself over a possible bout in the past.

Interestingly, Bisping’s pre-fight remarks saw him actually warn Paul against the fight, branding Perry a “savage” who has “good technique.” The Englishman suggested the 27-year-old Cleveland native was “rolling the dice” by fighting “Platinum” and would not have an easy night.

But despite proving Bisping wrong, Paul isn’t getting any praise from the ex-UFC champ.

“Coming into this fight, I think myself, the whole fight community, everyone was behind Mike Perry. But the reality was he was too small,” Bisping said. “There are weight classes in boxing, in combat sports, for a reason. Jake Paul was about twice the size of him. The weight difference is going to be insane.

“Well done Jake Paul if that’s what you want to see. That was a farce,” Bisping continued. “That was ridiculous. That fight should have never even taken place in the first place because it was a sh*t show. Jake Paul was by far the bigger guy, and as I’ve said, there are weight classes for a reason. … He (Paul) cherry picks these opponents that are way smaller and less experienced.”

Paul will be no stranger to that kind of criticism, with his detractors using choice of opponents as the main tool by which to take away from his boxing career thus far.

And that trend will no doubt continue as he looks to ride the momentum from the knockout win over Perry into a planned Netflix showdown with 58-year-old Tyson at AT&T Stadium this November.

Tyron Woodley Gives Former Opponent Jake Paul ‘Props’ After Mike Perry Win, Defends Him Against Claims Of Fatigue

Jake Paul put on a thoroughly dominant display in his boxing matchup with Mike Perry on Saturday, overwhelming the BKFC star en route to a sixth-round knockout win.

The victory marked the fifth former UFC star whom Paul has stood victorious over in the boxing ring, with previous wins over Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley (twice).

Woodley was, in fact, on color commentary for the Paul vs. Perry DAZN broadcast, and he was willing to tip his cap to his former foe.

“You got to kind of give Jake his props, man,” Woodley told The Schmo in a post-fight interview. “You can be a hater all you want, but he was punching the dude high, low. He was throwing power with both hands, variety.”

Tyron Woodley Explains What Makes For Good Cardio While Defending Jake Paul Against Critics

Paul dropped Perry once each during the opening two rounds. Despite this, “Platinum” continued to go through the former Disney star’s punches and fire away, trying to make use of his well-known and entertaining brawling style. “The Problem Child,” however, continued to land damaging shots, and Perry was dropped for a third time during the sixth round.

Perry stumbled while returning to his feet, prompting the referee to call the fight in Paul’s favor.

One notable thing that critics got on Paul for was his heavy breathing during the fight, as the Cleveland native seemed to be winded after his bashing of Perry for two rounds.

Woodley, however, pointed out that Paul recovered and got the knockout eventually — and that’s what cardio is about, not a lack of breathing hard.

“Everybody thinks you’re supposed to have the cardio where you never breathe hard,” Woodley said. “When you’re punching that hard, it’s not about breathing hard, it’s about recovering. He showed he can recover and go back to the power.”

Mike Perry Responds To Conor McGregor Proclaiming He’s ‘Fired’ From BKFC After Jake Paul Loss

Conor McGregor may be among those who took Perry’s knockout loss to Jake Paul the roughest, publicly trashing both men before and claiming that “Platinum” will be released by the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

McGregor, who became a part-owner of BKFC a couple of months ago, fired off the posts on X (formerly Twitter) moments following Perry being stopped by Paul in their headlining boxing match at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday night.

    https://twitter.com/TheNotoriousMMA/status/1814892629122798046

Perry was dropped twice in the opening two rounds, and while he tried to walk through Paul’s punches and walk the ex-Disney star down, Paul’s power and technical skills were just too much.

After getting dropped in the sixth round, Perry made it back to his feet but stumbled, forcing the referee to wave off the fight.

Perry Hits Back AT BKFC Part-Owner McGregor: ‘He Can’t Fire Me!’

Perry was asked about McGregor’s actions during his post-fight press conference. He claimed the Irishman has no power to release him. Perry even offered to settle the differences in the BKFC ring.

“Me and him are both co-owners of BKFC,” Perry said. “So he can’t fire me. We can fight in Bare Knuckle. Look at me, I lost to Jake Paul. Why don’t you go fight Jake Paul in boxing with gloves on? I think it would be worse than Conor McGregor vs. [Floyd] Mayweather.”

McGregor’s post made reference to Perry announcing the formation of Dirty Boxing Championship, a promotion that will mix in boxing and ground-and-pound mechanics.

Perry is BKFC’s “King of Violence” and has amassed a 5-0 record in the organization since coming over from the UFC in 2021.

McGregor’s return to the UFC is still to be determined, meanwhile, after a planned comeback against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 was scrapped. The current rumor is the bout will be rebooked for UFC 310 in December.

‘Just Bullied Another Small Guy’ – Conor McGregor, Mike Tyson, & Others React To Jake Paul’s Dominating Knockout Of Mike Perry

Jake Paul added another name to his record, putting away Mike Perry in their bout from Tampa, Florida.

In what seemed to be a flashback to his fight with Nate Diaz, Paul got off to a hot start by dropping the former UFC fighter-turned-BKFC star with a clubbing blow in the opening couple of minutes.

Paul continued to land at will, with Perry unable to trap “The Problem Child” at all. “Platinum” landed strong shots in the second round, but he was dropped again courtesy of a right hook from Paul and was rocked later in the frame.

Perry walked Paul down during the second and third rounds, trying to showcase a strong chin. He busted the ex-Disney star open in the middle of the third round and looked to continue his pressure. But Paul wobbled Perry again in the fourth.

Perry was still wobbly but recovering as he continued to fight and try to walk Paul down, rather than pause for recovery. A flurry of punches stumbled “Perry “Platinum” back into a corner, but the MMA veteran ultimately survived the round in spite of being caught with a right hand at the bell.

With the fight looking like it could come to an end at any moment, Perry was knocked down again in the sixth round. Perry got to his feet but stumbled, and the referee waved the contest off.

This date was the original plan for Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson in Texas, which will now take place on November 15.

Since his sole loss to Tommy Fury, “The Problem Child” has scored a unanimous decision win over Diaz and back-to-back stoppages of Andre August and Ryan Bourland, in addition to his latest triumph on Saturday night.

Since leaving the UFC in 2021, meanwhile, Perry has been dominant in BKFC, with wins over Julian Lane, Michael “Venom” Page, Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez and Thiago Alves. Perry’s finish of Alvarez at BKFC 56 in December won him the promotion’s “King of Violence” title.

Perry had only competed in pro boxing once prior to tonight, losing a March 2015 bout to Kenneth McNeil.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Weigh-In Results: Paul Makes Weight On Second Attempt

Jake Paul and Mike Perry weighed in today to make their bout official. MMA News has the results here!

Internet sensation and boxing star Jake Paul returns to the ring after an impressive knockout win against Ryan Bourland earlier this year.

He was initially slated to face Mike Tyson in a groundbreaking matchup on Netflix this Saturday. However, the legendary heavyweight boxer had to postpone the fight due to an illness. Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship fan favorite Mike Perry will step in on short notice and looks to stun the boxing world with a win over “The Problem Child.”

All fighters competing on the card had to weigh in ahead of their matchups. The main event became official after Paul’s second attempt at making the cruiserweight limit on his second attempt.

Since transitioning from MMA to bare-knuckle boxing in 2022, Perry has enjoyed a career renaissance. He is undefeated with five wins, including over Eddie Alvarez, Michael “Venom” Page, and Luke Rockhold. Perry’s last bare-knuckle boxing appearance was a knockout win over Thiago Alves in the first round at BKFC KnuckleMania 4 on April 27. While “Platinum” Perry has found a new sport to thrive in, facing Paul will be a different challenge than he has faced before.

This Saturday’s matchup for Paul will be vital as he hopes to fight Tyson later this year. The highly anticipated bout has been rescheduled for November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The 9-1 boxer will be highly motivated to dispatch Perry to send a message to “Iron Mike.” Paul also has the knockout power and professional boxing experience to give Perry more than he can handle. That said, Perry has shown to be tough to finish and is expected to give his all to defy the odds against him.

Paul vs. Perry will occur at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Fans can watch the main card at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT by subscribing to DAZN and paying $64.99 for the pay-per-view. The prelims will stream for free on the DAZN YouTube Channel at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT.

VIDEO: Jake Paul & Mike Perry Complete Open Workouts Ahead Of Boxing Match

Days out from their boxing showdown, Jake Paul and Mike Perry appeared in the ring for their open workouts.

Paul, a YouTuber-turned-pugilist, and Perry, a former UFC fighter-turned-BKFC star, are set to do battle as the headline act of a DAZN pay-per-view event at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, this weekend.

“The Problem Child’s” second match this year was originally scheduled to come this Saturday opposite legendary ex-heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. But with the 58-year-old falling ill in the lead-up, their Netflix clash has been postponed to November.

In the meantime, Paul will now face a challenge widely branded more intriguing. While he hasn’t stepped foot in the ring for a professional boxing bout since an unsuccessful 2015 debut, Perry has found his niche in the bare-knuckle boxing world.

Having left the UFC, “Platinum” signed with BKFC and has since defeated notable names like Michael “Venom” Page, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez en route to a perfect 5-0 record in the gloveless sport.

He’s now gotten the call to face the 9-1 Paul, marking the latest MMA veteran to share the cage with the 27-year-old Cleveland native.

Saturday’s event, dubbed “Fear No Man,” is set to begin at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT, with the Paul vs. Perry ringwalks expected at around 12 AM ET/9 PM PT.

Ahead of the match, the pair appeared for the open workouts at the Armature Works in Tampa on Wednesday. You can check out a full replay of them below via the DAZN Boxing YouTube channel:

  • Jake Paul Reacts To Nate Diaz’s Lawsuit Against Fanmio: ‘Guess That $15 Million From PFL Needs To Be Taken A Little More Seriously…’

Jake Paul Reacts To Nate Diaz’s Lawsuit Against Fanmio: ‘Guess That $15 Million From PFL Needs To Be Taken A Little More Seriously…’

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has little sympathy for Nate Diaz after the former UFC star began legal proceedings against Fanmio.

Fanmio staged a boxing event at Anaheim’s Honda Center on July 6, headlined by Diaz and his fellow MMA veteran Jorge Masvidal. The pair ran it back in the ring almost five years on from their showdown in the Octagon at Madison Square Garden.

The Stockton native successfully exacted his revenge, leveling his combat sports series with “Gamebred” courtesy of a victory on the scorecards following 10 rounds of competitive action between the pair.

After that battle with Masvidal, Diaz has now begun one with the promoter, accusing Fanmio and its CEO, Solomon Engel, of not paying the $9 million post-fight purse agreed both verbally and in writing.

Diaz’s attorney filed a lawsuit against the promoter in U.S. District Court in Miami on Monday, news of which was first reported by TMZ and drew a laugh out of a former opponent of the ex-UFC star’s…

Paul Amused By Diaz’s Pay Plight Post-Masvidal Fight

The suit claims that Engel pointed to a lower-than-expected profit from the Diaz vs. Masvidal match as the reason behind the alleged refusal to pay, as well as fears his wife would divorce him due to the financial loss of paying Diaz the $9 million.

Engel subsequently responded in a fiery statement, in which he accused Diaz of making “salacious and defamatory” claims. All in all, the story has turned plenty of heads and will now play out in the legal domain.

Among those to react to the situation was Paul, who welcomed Diaz to the sport of boxing following his UFC exit last August. After outpointing the Stockton native, the ex-Disney star and the Professional Fighters League (PFL) offered $15 million for a rematch in the MMA realm.

Diaz has been firm in rejecting it and insisting he’ll only compete in the cage under the UFC banner. But given the pay dispute with Fanmio, “The Problem Child” joked that his former opponent may need to revisit the PFL’s offer.

“Guess that $15 million from PFL needs to be taken a little more seriously you dummy,” Paul wrote. “Yesterday’s price is not today’s price.”

Paul also took a passing shot at Masvidal, whom “The Problem Child” has gone back and forth with in recent years.

“Oh and Masvidal you broke and can’t sell sh*t.”

While Diaz focuses on securing the full remuneration he believes he’s owed following his recent triumph, it’ll be Paul’s turn to return to the ring this weekend.

After the postponement of his Netflix showdown with Mike Tyson, the Cleveland native will face former UFC fighter and current BKFC star Mike Perry at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, in the meantime.

Fanmio CEO Releases Statement After Being Sued By Nate Diaz, Accuses Ex-UFC Star Of ‘Salacious & Defamatory’ Claims

Fanmio and its CEO, Solomon Engel, have vehemently refuted the recent claims made by former UFC star Nate Diaz.

On Monday, Diaz’s attorney, Jeremiah Reynolds, filed a lawsuit against the promoter in U.S. District Court in Miami, accusing Engel and his company of fraud and breach of contract in relation to his recent boxing match.

The Stockton native headlined an event earlier this month alongside fellow ex-UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal, with the pair running it back in the ring almost five years on from their first clash in the Octagon at Madison Square Garden.

“Gamebred” emerged victorious in MMA, but it was Diaz who had his hand raised inside Anaheim’s Honda Center on July 6. But the boxing event’s story unfortunately hasn’t concluded with the result.

According to Diaz, he’s owed $9 million by Fanmio. The suit alleges that a $10 million overall purse had been agreed verbally and in writing, with $1 million to be paid up front and $9 million post-fight.

But the former UFC star claims Engel is not paying the $9 million fee having not profited off the fight as expected. The suit also claims that the Fanmio CEO told Diaz he couldn’t pay the $9 million over fears his wife would divorce him due to the financial loss.

Fanmio CEO Hits Back At Diaz’s ‘Frivolous’ Lawsuit

Once TMZ broke news of Diaz’s lawsuit against Fanmio, it didn’t take long for the company’s chief to release a statement.

In it, Engel accused his event’s headline victor of making “salacious and defamatory” claims in attempt to harm him and his family. He added that the “frivolous” suit has only encouraged him to ensure the “truth” emerges.

Interestingly, part of the Fanmio CEO’s defense in the statement was to insist that Diaz has “already been paid seven figures.” That fact isn’t something Diaz has denied, with the suit stating the $1 million was paid up front, but the agreed figure to be paid following the match was not.

“Nate Diaz has filed a frivolous lawsuit against Fanmio which claims that fraud and breach of contract were committed by Fanmio, yet neither has taken place. In fact, Diaz has already been paid seven figures in connection with the fight. I look forward to resolving this dispute through the appropriate process and am confident that justice will prevail. Making salacious and defamatory statements to the media in order to harm my family and I has only strengthened my resolve to ensure that the truth will triumph.”

Diaz’s suit also alleges that he was paid the $500,000 purse that was disclosed to the commission but was asked to return it in favor of getting the $9 million in one lump sum. The former UFC star claims he agreed out of good faith but hasn’t received a penny since.

Nate Diaz Sues Fanmio Over $9 Million Unpaid Purse For Jorge Masvidal Fight, Promoter Allegedly Blames Possible Divorce

Just over a week on from the boxing fight on Fanmio between Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal, the victorious Stockton star has sued the company and its owner over claims he’s yet to be paid 90 percent of the agreed purse.

Over four years on from their highly anticipated showdown inside the Octagon at UFC 244, Diaz and Masvidal ran it back in a different environment on July 6.

While Madison Square Garden played host to “Gamebred’s” victory in MMA, a packed-out crown inside Anaheim’s Honda Center witnessed the pair run it back in the boxing ring last Saturday.

Diaz successfully exacted his revenge, outpointing Masvidal across a competitive and entertaining 10 rounds of action. But his celebrations have evidently been cut short by a financial dispute with Fanmio.

TMZ reported this week that Diaz is suing promoter Solomon Engel and his company over a substantial amount of agreed pay allegedly being withheld. The former UFC fighter’s attorney, Jeremiah Reynolds, filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Miami on Monday.

Promoter Accused Of Using Possible Divorce As Reason Not To Pay Diaz

In the suit, Diaz claims to have been promised a $10 million purse for the boxing match, both verbally and in writing. While the $1 million upfront was paid, the Stockton star and his team claim Engel is refusing to pay the post-fight sum of $9 million.

Engel is said to have not paid up after not profiting off the Diaz vs. Masvidal fight in the way he had expected.

It’s also alleged that the head of Fanmio told Diaz he couldn’t pass over the remaining $9 million in agreed pay due to fears his wife would divorce him due to the financial loss.

As a result, Diaz is suing for fraud and breach of contract, noting in the lawsuit that he wouldn’t have followed through with the match had he known the agreed $10 million purse wouldn’t be paid.

This past Saturday, Masvidal came up short on the judges’ scorecards in a rematch of their Octagon clash from UFC 244 in November 2019. This time, the bout took place in a professional boxing ring, headlining a pay-per-view event at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

After a showdown marked by intense, back-and-forth action, two of the three judges awarded the victory to Diaz with scores of 98-92 and 97-93. The third judge, however, saw it as a dead heat, scoring the fight a 95-95 draw.

Following the loss, the former BMF titleholder contended that he had done enough to secure the victory and claimed that the judges were prejudiced against him. Although Masvidal immediately called for a rematch, Diaz promptly dismissed this request during the post-event press conference.

“Gamebred” has previously mentioned that he has a three-fight contract with Fanmio, granting him the opportunity to pursue high-profile boxing matches. Considering Masvidal’s recent passion for the sweet science, it seems highly probable that he will seek a swift return to the squared circle.

While Helwani may not be an official matchmaker, he has an intriguing contender in mind for Masvidal’s comeback fight…

Helwani Sees KSI As Prime Matchup For Masvidal’s Next Boxing Bout

During a recent episode of The MMA Hour, Helwani explored potential opponents for Jorge Masvidal’s next boxing match, ultimately suggesting the possibility of pitting YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI against the former two-time UFC welterweight title challenger.

The Canadian combat sports journalist suggested that a fight with Masvidal would be significantly more intriguing than the scheduled 1 vs. 2 matchup against Slim Albaher and MMA veteran Anthony Taylor.

“I’ll tell you what, with all due respect, I would much rather see Jorge against KSI than KSI in this, you know, whatever, [1 vs.2],” Helwani said. “Actually, Jorge versus KSI is really interesting to me.”

Helwani further noted that the bittersweet past between Masvidal and KSI makes this matchup a more logical and compelling choice for both fighters.

“Remember, that was a thing that kind of happened a year and a half ago on the show, where they suggested it and they were kind of looking into it. I’m pretty sure KSI is on the okay list; you know, like, there’s this list that the UFC gave Jorge that he’s allowed to take fights with X, Y, and Z.”

Last July, in a conversation with Masvidal, Helwani broached the notion of arranging a boxing match with KSI. However, the 39-year-old Miami native swiftly dismissed any interest in squaring off against the British social media influencer.

Despite announcing his retirement from MMA after a loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 in April 2023, Masvidal recently disclosed that he is still under contract with the UFC.

The organization has granted him special permission to pursue boxing opportunities, and Masvidal has hinted at an inevitable return to the Octagon in the future.

Darren Till Roasts Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal Boxing Match: ‘Fluffy Hands, Not A Lot Of Power, In No Fit Physical Shape…’

This past weekend was a big one for former UFC stars making their way into the boxing world as Saturday night’s major contest saw Nate Diaz take on Jorge Masvidal inside the ring.

On the same night, former UFC title challenger Darren Till also stepped through the ropes for the first time when making his long awaited return to competition at Social Knockout 3.

Whilst he took this fight just to try and stay active after his bout on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fell off, Till hopes to mix it up with the big names in this scene in the near future.

With both Masvidal and Diaz being potential opponents for him inside the ring, he was sure to have a keen eye on their rematch that went down in California

Darren Till Not Impressed By What He Saw From Nate Diaz & Jorge Masvidal

The general consensus seemed to be that the boxing clash between Masvidal and Diaz ended up being a better watch that some may have expected.

Till didn’t see the fight that way, however, as he outlined during his appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

“The Gorilla” wasn’t particularly impressed by what he saw from either man but didn’t want to discredit them too much due to the respect he has for them both.

“I wasn’t impressed mate. Just like, fluffy hands, just not a lot of power, both looked like they wasn’t in no fit physical shape. But as I say, Masvidal, I fought and he beat me fair and square. Diaz, I don’t ever like to diss Diaz too much, I’ve always been a fan since a kid. I think he’s a f****** G of the sport, he’s one of your real ones. Whether you want it in the ring or outside, he’s that guy and that’s what I respect.”

Till, meanwhile, emerged victorious in bizarre fashion after his opponent claimed to be unable to continue following a shot to the back of the head.

After a brawl between the pair was split up, the Liverpool native was awarded the victory by way of TKO, marking his first combat sports win since 2019.
