Usman Nurmagomedov To Return AT PFL New York

Usman Nurmagomedov will defend his PFL Lightweight Championship against undefeated contender Archie Colgan in the July 31 main event at UBS Arena in Long Island, with Dakota Ditcheva also returning in the co-main event against Denise Kielholtz.

PFL officials announced the bookings to the New York Post.

Nurmagomedov, 21-0, defended his title by submitting Alfie Davis at PFL Dubai in February. Colgan, 13-0, defeated Jay Jay Wilson by unanimous decision on the same card. The two-time NCAA Championship qualifier in wrestling holds wins over Mansour Barnaoui and Emmanuel Sanchez among others.

Ditcheva, 15-0, returns from a year-long absence due to a hand injury. The 2024 PFL flyweight tournament winner had previously been booked to face Kielholtz at PFL Dubai before withdrawing. Kielholtz enters on a three-fight winning streak.

Mohammad Yahya vs. Mehdi Saadi – Featherweight Main Event

This marks the first PFL MENA event to be held outside Saudi Arabia. This card was originally planned to take place in Saudi Arabia on May 8; however, the event was relocated and rescheduled to today due to the ongoing tension and conflicts in the Middle East.

This main event will serve as one of two featherweight quarterfinal bouts on this card.

This is Yahya’s first fight in the PFL and first fight since parting ways with the UFC last year after an 0-3 stint. He was the lightweight champion in UAE Warriors and has also fought for Bellator and Desert Force.

Saadi also makes his PFL debut today, competing for the first time since January 2024. The 6-2 fighter comes into this bout off a finish of Jalal Al Daaja in UAE Warriors.

The co-main event will feature one of four lightweight tournament quarterfinal matchups tonight, as Salah Eddine Hamli takes on Ylies Djiroun.

The undefeated Hamli is the defending PFL MENA lightweight champion. He claimed last year’s tournament title with submission victories over Abbas Khan, Souhil Tairi, and Mohammad Fahmi.

Djiroun competed in the 2019 PFL season, as well as having fought for promotions like BRAVE CF and ARES FC. Djiroun has won six of his last seven bouts, most recently submitting Antonio Roberto in 45 seconds in January.

  • Patrick Habirora Puts Away Benson Henderson In Just 20 Seconds

For Patrick Habirora, it was the statement win over an MMA legend that gave a notable name on his resume. For Benson Henderson, it was a disastrous return to MMA after his retirement three years earlier.

Habirora defeated Henderson by knockout in just 20 seconds in the main event of PFL Brussels.

Habirora started to get things going, feeling things out with Henderson while landing a big body kick.

But Habirora brought things to an end quickly when he connected with a left hand that slumped Henderson face-first in the center of the cage.

Habirora is now 9-0 as a pro, including a 4-0 PFL record. He came into this bout off first-round knockouts of Danny Roberts and Kevin Jousset in 2025.

This marked Henderson’s first MMA fight since 2023. While the former UFC and WEC champion has fought in boxing, Karate Combat, and RAF since, Henderson last fought MMA at Bellator 292, retiring after unsuccessfully challenging Usman Nurmagomedov for the Bellator lightweight title.

  • Taylor Lapilus Gets One-Sided Decision Over Jake Hadley

Taylor Lapilus continues to rack up victories on the world’s biggest MMA stages, as he scores a decision win over Jake Hadley in the PFL Brussels co-main event.

Hadley’s key to success in this fight would have been to use his wrestling and score takedowns. Lapilus, however, was ready, consistently stuffing his opponent’s attempts.

Lapilus followed that up by landing a number of combinations over the 15-minute contest, knocking Hadley down more than once. Hadley showed little in the way of offense as Lapilus continuously shut him down.

Lapilus went on to sweep the scorecards.

Lapilus has now won six straight and is 4-0 in the PFL since jumping over from the UFC. He entered this fight off a finish of Kasum Kasumov in February.

Hadley has now lost three of his last four and five of his last seven.

  • Boris Mbarga Atangana Scores 65-Second Win In Brussels

In front of a native crowd in Belgium, Boris Mbarga Atangana delivered a highlight, starching Jared Gooden in just over a minute at PFL Brussels.

Atangana had the upper hand from the start, using pressure and striking to keep Gooden on the back foot. Atangana then quickly stumbled Gooden with a high kick.

Pressing Gooden against the fence, Atangana fired off combinations that started with a strong right hand. A couple of solid hooks — one from the left and three from the right — cracked Gooden, seemingly knocking him out on his feet, bringing a quick end to the fight.

Atangana is now 9-0 in MMA, including a 4-0 PFL record. He came into this bout off a second-round submission of Guilherme Soares at PFL Lyon in December.

Gooden, who was making his PFL debut tonight, has now lost three straight and four of his last five.

  • Donegi Abena Wins MMA Debut with Bizarre Retirement

One of the more interesting bouts on the PFL Brussels card was the debut of Donegi Abena, as he took on the returning Joe Schilling. And that fight ended up producing one of the most bizarre finishes in PFL history.

Abena ended up getting the win after committing a foul, with his opponent refusing to continue.

The fight quickly went to the ground with Abena on top. While there, Abena headbutt Schilling, resulting in referee Mike Beltran calling a timeout and deducting a point from Abena.

Schilling was furious with his opponent, walking around the cage and refusing to stay in his corner.

When Beltran checked in on Schilling, Schilling told him, “I’m done,” prompting the fight to be waved off.

Abena found success in the world of kickboxing, competing for GLORY Kickboxing from 2019 to 2024. Abena is a one-time former GLORY light heavyweight champion and a former GLORY Light Heavyweight Grand Prix winner.

Schilling, also a kickboxer, was fighting for the first time since 2019. He was knocked out by Tony Johnson in his last fight at Bellator 229.

  • PFL Brussels Results: Habirora vs. Henderson Live Updates And Highlights

PFL Brussels results and highlights are updated live as the action unfolds from the ING Arena in Brussels, Belgium. The main event will feature a welterweight bout between Patrick Habirora and Benson Henderson. MMANews has you covered with all the results and highlights!

Patrick Habirora vs. Benson Henderson – Welterweight Main Event

Patrick Habirora is one of Europe’s hottest MMA prospects, let alone perhaps PFL’s. Habirora is 8-0 in professional MMA, including a 4-0 PFL record so far, with seven finishes to his name. He comes into this bout off back-to-back first-round finishes of Danny Roberts and Kevin Jousset.

Henderson, the former UFC and WEC lightweight champion, comes out of retirement for his first professional MMA bout in three years. Henderson’s last MMA fight came at Bellator 292, when he unsuccessfully challenged Usman Nurmagomedov for the Bellator lightweight title during the Bellator Lightweight Grand Prix.

Henderson has since kept busy in other disciplines, defeating Chris Avila and losing to Idris Virgo in boxing, losing to Anthony Pettis in Karate Combat, and losing to Aljamain Sterling in RAF.

The co-main event will be a bantamweight contest featuring Taylor Lapilus and Jake Hadley.

Lapilus has won five straight and 11 of his last 12, which includes a 3-1 stint with the UFC. Lapilus is 3-0 since moving from the UFC to the PFL, most recently finishing Kasum Kasumov at PFL Lyon in December.

Hadley, the former Cage Warriors champion, had his own stint in the UFC after winning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. After going 3-4 with the UFC between 2022 and 2024, Hadley arrived at the PFL last year. He scored a Scottish twister submission of Matheus Mattos before losing to eventual Bantamweight World Tournament champion Marcirley Alves.

  • WATCH: PFL Brussels Faceoff Turns Ugly As Fighters And Teams Brawl While Dan Hardy Gets Caught In Wild Crossfire

Tensions boiled over ahead of PFL Brussels as a scheduled bout nearly erupted a day early during the ceremonial weigh-ins.

What was supposed to be a routine faceoff between Khamzat Abaev and Luca Poclit quickly spiraled into chaos when both fighters brought unexpected intensity to the stage. Poclit stepped forward aggressively with his guard raised, prompting an immediate reaction from Abaev.

The situation escalated within seconds. Abaev responded with a shove and even swung a kick in close quarters, forcing officials to step in. However, attempts to calm things down only made matters worse, as members of both camps got involved and punches began flying behind them.

In the middle of it all was Dan Hardy, who was overseeing the faceoffs. The former UFC fighter found himself caught in the chaos, nearly getting struck during the exchange as he tried to keep the fighters separated.

Despite Hardy’s efforts, the situation briefly spiraled out of control before security intervened and restored order. No serious injuries were reported, but the incident added unexpected drama to the event’s buildup.

Ironically, the altercation came ahead of a preliminary card welterweight bout, not the main event. The card itself is set to take place at ING Arena in Brussels, with Benson Henderson headlining against Patrick Habirora.

After Friday’s explosive scenes, all eyes will now be on Abaev and Poclit to see if they carry that same intensity into the cage when they officially meet on Saturday night.

  • Benson Henderson’s Return To MMA Came Down To One Persistent Text Message

Benson Henderson’s Return To MMA Came Down To One Persistent Text Message

Benson Henderson says PFL matchmaker Mike Kogan kept needling him about what people were saying online until he finally agreed to come out of retirement for a fight against Patrick Habirora at PFL Brussels on Saturday.

Henderson retired from MMA in 2023 but remained active in boxing, karate combat, and freestyle wrestling. Speaking to MMA Fighting, he explained exactly how the comeback came together.

“My man Mike Kogan, the head matchmaker for PFL, great guy, I love him, he’s always done me right. But he texted me, he needled me a couple of times like ‘oh man, Henderson, guys online are talking smack, saying this, saying that’ and I’m like people can say whatever, it’s cool, no big deal. They’re saying you don’t have it anymore. I told him, I don’t care. People have been after me my whole career. I’ve done all right. People are allowed to have their opinion. But he kept needling me a couple more times and then he texted me two days later and said ‘hey, I’ve got a matchup for you, Patrick Habirora, why don’t you remind the world who you are, what you did and what you can do. You know what? Sounds good, Kogan. Let’s remind the world who I am and what I’ve done and how I do it.”

Henderson, 42, said he never truly stepped away from training at The MMA Lab in Arizona, returning to the gym the week after retiring.

“Since the day I retired, I was back in the gym the next week, on the mats training again. Our whole thing at The MMA Lab is being the hardest working gym in the world. We fight on Saturdays and back in the gym on Monday working to get better, win or lose, it doesn’t matter. I never stopped. I never stopped training.”

Henderson said he is signed to a three-fight deal with PFL but is taking things one fight at a time.

“My mindset after I beat Patrick, after the referee pulls me off of him, my mindset is more along the lines of whatever comes. I’m not itching to fight this guy or that guy. I’m not looking to get another belt around my waist. I’ll take it a fight at a time. I like to compete. I will compete until my body won’t allow me anymore.”

  • Ex-PFL Fighter Arrested After Alleged Sexual Assault Outside Nightclub In Florida

A professional MMA fighter has been arrested in Florida on a serious felony charge following an alleged incident in Key West.

The 33-year-old welterweight was taken into custody in the early hours of May 18 and booked into Monroe County jail on one count of sexual battery. He was later released after posting a $50,000 bond.

The fighter has been identified as Logan Storley. According to police reports, the situation began at a bar on Duval Street, where he allegedly made repeated advances toward a woman who attempted to avoid him. Investigators claim the encounter escalated after both individuals left the venue, with the alleged assault taking place in a nearby alley.

Witnesses from a neighboring establishment reportedly saw the incident unfold and intervened. Authorities say “Storm” attempted to leave the scene but was stopped by a staff member and held until officers arrived. The woman was transported to a medical facility for examination.

Police also noted the presence of alcohol, and the South Dakota native declined to speak with investigators without an attorney after being read his rights.

The arrest comes just weeks after his most recent fight. “Storm” competed on May 2, earning a unanimous decision win over Florim Zendeli at PFL Sioux Falls. He is no longer part of the PFL roster, with reports indicating the separation occurred prior to the incident.

A former Bellator standout and accomplished collegiate wrestler, Storley holds a professional record of 19-4. His arraignment is expected in early June as the legal process moves forward.

  • Hometown Hero Logan Storley Scores Decision At PFL Sioux Falls

Hometown Hero Logan Storley Scores Decision At PFL Sioux Falls

It was another successful homecoming in the MMA career of Logan Storley, as the former standout wrestler from South Dakota defeated Florim Zendeli in the PFL Sioux Falls main event.

Storley, in typical fashion, scored a strong early takedown. Zendeli was not only unable to get out of his grasp, but he also was deducted two points in the first round for repeated fence grabs.

Zendeli held his own defensively in the first half of the second round, and he even landed close shots that opened a cut on Storley. Zendeli went for a throw, but Storley rolled through and managed to get right back in control.

Logan Storley Wrestles His Way To Clean Decision Win Over Florim Zendeli At PFL Sioux Falls

Zendeli looked to get his striking going in the early portion of the third round. Storley, however, scored another takedown halfway through the frame, remaining in top control until the horn.

All three judges scored the bout 30-25 for Storley.

Storley, the former Bellator welterweight champion, has now won four of his last five. Storley competed in last year’s Welterweight World Tournament, defeating Joseph Lucaino and Masayuki Kikuiri before losing to Thad Jean in the final.

This loss snaps a seven-fight unbeaten streak for Zendeli. Zendeli defeated Tomas Langowski, Jack Grant, and Daniele Miceli to capture the 2024 PFL Europe welterweight title. He then fought in Abu Dhabi this past October, defeating Omar El Dafrawy.

  • Gadzhi Rabadanov Takes Decision Win Over Alex Chizov

Gadzhi Rabadanov Takes Decision Win Over Alex Chizov

Gadzhi Rabadanov hopes PFL Sioux Falls started a new long win streak for him, as he defeated Alex Chizov in the evening’s co-main event.

Rabadanov controlled most of the action during round one, scoring a pair of takedown attempts. Chizov almost made him pay for one to start the second round; however, thanks to his guillotine attempt.

Chizov managed to work his jab well in the second round, but Rabadanov’s strikes swelled up one of his eyes, and Rabadanov still maintained the grappling advantage.

Gadzhi Rabadanov Earns Decision Over Alex Chizov In PFL Sioux Falls Co-Main

Chizov picked up the pace in the third round, landing a knee and holding off most of Rabadanov’s grappling attempts.

This was Rabadanov’s first fight since losing the 2025 PFL Lightweight World Tournament final to Alfie Davis. That loss marked the end of a 12-fight win streak for Rabadanov, who was the lightweight champion of the PFL’s 2024 season.

This was Chizov’s first fight since running through Mark Ewen, Claudio Pacella, and Connor Hughes last year to capture the 2025 PFL Europe lightweight title.

  • Simeon Powell Cracks Emiliano Sordi For Wild TKO Win

Simeon Powell Cracks Emiliano Sordi For Wild TKO Win

A wild, back-and-forth fight that could have seen a finish for either fighter ended with Simeon Powell’s success. Powell defeated Emiliano Sordi at PFL Sioux Falls.

Sordi’s relentless pressure and grappling gave him control for most of the early portion of the fight. Powell rallied late in the first round, however, rocking Sordi with combinations, with Sordi saved by the bell.

Sordi battled back with his control again in the second round, as Powell had not much of an answer when the fight went to the ground. Both men, however, had their fair share of strong strikes in the third.

Powell got the last laugh, however, when he landed a knee that dropped Sordi, en route to a TKO victory.

Powell, the 2023 PFL Europe light heavyweight runner-up, has now won three of his last four. He came into this fight off a loss to Antonio Carlos Junior this past June.

This was Sordi’s first fight in the PFL since 2022. Sordi, who was the light heavyweight champion of the PFL’s 2019 season, entered this bout on a four-fight win streak.

  • Sergey Bilostenniy Nabs One-Sided Win Over Renan Ferreira

Sergey Bilostenniy Nabs One-Sided Win Over Renan Ferreira

Sergey Bilostenniy may now be considered a top heavyweight in the PFL scene after he finished former champion Renan Ferreira at PFL Sioux Falls.

Bilostenniy stayed on the outside, trying to work around Ferreira’s size advantage. Bilostenniy knocked Ferreira down in the opening minute with an uppercut, going to the ground with the former PFL champ, and dominating on top, but unable to score the finish.

Bilostenniy connected on a one-two in the first minute of round two before scoring a single-leg takedown and completely controlling again.

Ferreira appeared to hurt an ankle in an early third-round exchange. Then, Bilostenniy connected with a solid right hand that dropped Ferreira again. Some follow-up shots brought an end to the fight.

Bilostenniy is now 4-1 with three finishes in the PFL since his promotional debut in 2024. He competed in last year’s Heavyweight World Tournament, losing his opening-round bout to Valentin Moldavsky.

Ferreira has now lost three straight, a stretch that started with his losses to Francis Ngannou at PFL Battle of the Giants. Prior to that, Ferreira won the 2023 PFL heavyweight season and quickly knocked out Ryan Bader in a PFL champion vs. Bellator champion matchup.

  • Taila Santos Lands Liver Kick KO At PFL Sioux Falls

Taila Santos Lands Liver Kick KO At PFL Sioux Falls

Taila Santos is back in the win column and made a case for a future PFL women’s flyweight title opportunity after a first-round finish of Yan Qihui during the PFL Sioux Falls preliminary card.

Santos worked her range well early, using her jab to connect on Qihui. Qihui couldn’t get a rhythm going, as her volume wasn’t there, and Santos fought fire with fire to answer Qihui’s strikes.

After preventing Qihui from getting inside, Santos landed a quick, hard kick to the liver that crumbled Qihui, finishing the fight in just over two minutes.

This was Santos’ first fight after missing all of 2025. She competed in the 2024 women’s flyweight season, defeating Ilia Joanne, Jena Bishop, and Liz Carmouche before losing to Dakota Ditcheva in the final.

Yan has now lost two straight and is 3-3 in her last six. This was her first fight since August 2024, when she lost to Danni McCormack in Road to UFC.

  • PFL MENA 2026 Season Kickoff Officially Rescheduled For Dubai

PFL MENA 2026 Season Kickoff Officially Rescheduled For Dubai

After the original plans for the 2026 season kickoff were postponed, PFL MENA’s first event for this calendar year has now been officially rescheduled.

Per an announcement from the PFL, the first PFL MENA card of 2026 will now take place on Sunday, May 24.

For the first time, a PFL MENA card will take place outside of Saudi Arabia. This event will take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is the same arena that has hosted two PFL Champions Series events in 2025, both headlined by Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Paul Hughes, and PFL Dubai this past February, which featured Nurmagomedov vs. Alfie Davis.

“Dubai is a key market for PFL MENA and a global hub for sport and entertainment, making it the ideal stage for our 2026 season opener, aptly titled ‘Pride of Arabia,’” PFL MENA General Manager Jerome Mazet said in a statement. “Dubai has consistently shown its passion for MMA, and we are excited to bring local stars like Mohammad Yahya and Zamzam Al Hammadi to perform in front of a home crowd.

“As the beating heart of sport and entertainment in the Arab world, Dubai offers a truly unique atmosphere, with athletes representing multiple nations, we know fans from across the region will be in the arena to support their own. There’s no city that connects cultures, fans and fighters quite like Dubai.”

PFL MENA’s first event of 2026 was originally scheduled for Friday, May 8, at the Dhahran Expo in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. PFL announced the event’s postponement in a press release on April 9.

Though PFL did not give a reason for the postponement in its cancellation press release, it is assumed the decision was made due to ongoing tensions and conflict in the Middle East. Despite this, the PFL is going forward with a PFL event in May.

The May 24 card will feature opening-round matchups in the promotion’s featherweight and lightweight tournaments.

The main event will see Mohammad Yahya face Mehdi Saadi in a featherweight tournament contest. The co-main event will be a lightweight tournament bout that pits unbeaten Salah Eddine Hamli against Ylies Djiroun.

Jay Jay Wilson Gets Major, Sub-Minute KO Of Darragh Kelly

A highly vocal and entertained Belfast crowd was left silent after the PFL Belfast main event, thanks to Jay Jay Wilson’s quick finish of the now-previously-undefeated Darragh Kelly.

Right away, both men came out firing quick strikes, throwing combinations. But things came crashing down quickly and suddenly for Kelly, courtesy of a body kick by Wilson.

Wilson followed that up with a left hand that dropped Kelly, along with follow-up shots that put Kelly out cold.

Wilson is now 12-2, and he has improved to 2-1 since coming over to the PFL from Bellator. Before tonight, Wilson had most recently fought in October, losing a decision to Archie Colgan.

Kelly took this fight on short notice, filling in for an injured Paul Hughes. This marked Kelly’s first loss in his professional MMA career. Kelly previously fought in September, submitting Bakhtiyar Abdulaev.

  • Rhys McKee Drops Alex Lohore, Earns One-Sided Decision In Belfast

Rhys McKee Drops Alex Lohore, Earns One-Sided Decision In Belfast

In his first fight with the PFL, Rhys McKee made an incredible entrance in front of a native crowd, filled with live music, before going on to defeat Alex Lohore in the PFL Belfast co-main event.

Lohore started things out with a focus on calf kicks, doing damage to McKee’s leg. While McKee looked to fight back, Lohore continued to pressure, eventually scoring a pair of takedowns later in round one. McKee got up both times but couldn’t find a way out of Lohore’s grasp until the end of the round.

McKee worked his jab well early in round two, and he appeared to be getting the better of Lohore in terms of striking. Lohore placed McKee against the fence again, but McKee had an easier time defending and getting into a grip control battle with Lohore.

Then, McKee dropped Lohore with a right hand seconds into the final round. McKee followed Lohore to the ground and controlled the action there, at one point threatening a D’Arce choke. Lohore got back to his feet and tried to get his striking going, but it was too little and too late.

McKee ended up sweeping the scorecards.

This marked McKee’s PFL debut, his first fight since parting ways with the UFC. The BAMMA and Cage Warriors veteran went 1-5 in two combined stints with the UFC during the 2020s.

Lohore, a veteran of OKTAGON and Brave CF, also made his PFL debut tonight. He last fought in May, defeating Mansur Abdurzakov. He also fought in Karate Comat, losing a middleweight title fight to Ilyas Khamzin last month.

Dean Garnett Puts Ciaran Clarke’s Lights Out With Spinning Elbow

After coming up just short of a PFL Europe title last year, Dean Garnett returned to the win column in highlight fashion, scoring a spinning back elbow knockout of Ciaran Clarke.

Garnett looked to take control early, going into the center and working a mix of leg kicks and body strikes. Clarke, meanwhile, focused on his own body strikes, looking to answer Garnett’s attacks.

Near the fence, Clarke looked to get inside. Garnett responded by landing a highlight spinning back elbow that cracked and dropped him.

  • Mitch McKee Uses Wrestling To Take Decision Over Sergio Pettis

Mitch McKee Uses Wrestling To Take Decision Over Sergio Pettis

In just one fight with the PFL, Mitch McKee has established himself as someone to watch out for at bantamweight, defeating Sergio Pettis in the main event of PFL Chicago.

McKee’s wrestling proved to be the distance from the start, taking Pettis down quickly and overwhelming him with grappling control and ground-and-pound. McKee continued this strategy in the second round, and while Pettis looked for multiple submissions, McKee was able to easily shake those off.

Pettis, needing a finish, looked to pick up his striking in the final round. He, however, had no answer for McKee’s takedowns, as McKee went on to score 29-28 totals on all three scorecards.

Mitch McKee defeats Sergio Pettis In PFL Chicago Main Event

McKee made his PFL debut tonight, spending most of his career with the LFA. He last fought at LFA 217 in September, defeating Pedro Nobre.

Pettis, the former Bellator bantamweight champion, scored a pair of wins in his first two PFL appearances last year. He defeated Raufeon Stots by decision in June and scored a highlight knockout of Magomed Magomedov in October.

Jena Bishop Chokes Out Borena Tsertsvadze At PFL Chicago

After falling just short in last year’s World Tournament, Jena Bishop is back in the win column, scoring a quick finish of Borena Tsertsvadze during the PFL Chicago prelims.

Bishop quickly took the center and got the fight to the ground, getting in a dominant position early. Bishop then flattened Tsertsvadze out, raining down blows before locking in a body triangle.

From there, Bishop searched and found the choke, scoring the submission just before the halfway mark of round one.

Bishop, a veteran of LFA and Bellator, came close but fell short in both women’s flyweight tournaments in 2024 and 2025. She lost to the eventual champions — respectively, Dakota Ditcheva (in the semifinals) and Liz Carmouche (in the finals).

This marked Tsertsvadze’s PFL debut and marks her first professional MMA loss. She entered this fight 6-0, most recently defeating Mobina Babanataj in November.

  • Omar El Dafrawy Quickly Starches James Vake At PFL Chicago

Omar El Dafrawy Quickly Starches James Vake At PFL Chicago

Omar El Dafrawy rebounded from his first PFL defeat in a big way, scoring a quick, first-round knockout of James Vake during the UFC Chicago preliminary card.

El Dafrawy had the reach advantage in this one, and he used that well by connecting with several kicks to start things off. Vake got working with his hands early, but El Dafrawy’s reach and offense kept him at bay.

Then, El Dafrawy landed a left hand that put Vake down to the mat immediately, leaving him unable to defend himself and continue. The fight ended in just 1:12.

El Dafrawy, a veteran of Brave CF and UAE Warriors, was the original PFL MENA welterweight champion in 2024. He won that tournament by going through Anthony Zeidan, Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi, and Mohammad Alaqraa. In 2025, El Dafrawy submitted Daniele Miceli but dropped a decision to Florim Zendeli.

Vake entered this fight, his PFL debut, on a four-fight win streak and with a 7-1 professional MMA record. This was Vake’s first fight since his October 2024 win over Cameron Clatworthy.
