Biaggio Ali Walsh Gets Sub-Minute Finish At PFL Chicago

Biaggio Ali Walsh’s journey into combat sports continues, as the grandson of Muhammad Ali starched Dash Harris in under a minute during the PFL Chicago prelims.

Ali Walsh targeted the body with shots in the opening seconds, and that did Harris in then and there. Ali Walsh continued with flurries, while also preventing Harris’ efforts to grapple.

Ali Walsh overwhelmed Harris until he folded, prompting “Big” John McCarthy to step in 46 seconds into the fight.

Ali Walsh, who has been with PFL since his amateur days, is now 4-1 as a pro. He entered this fight off a win over Adryan Grundy in August.

Harris, who made his PFL debut tonight, loses as a pro for the first time. Harris, who missed weight for this fight, fought in Elite Fight Night twice in 2025, defeating Michael Anderson and Devon Jackson.

  • PFL Chicago Loses Co-Main Event Minutes Before Start Time

PFL Chicago Loses Co-Main Event Minutes Before Start Time

PFL Chicago’s planned co-main event bout between Jordan Newman and Josh Silveira will not take place as scheduled.

The promotion announced the news in an update minutes before the PFL Chicago preliminary card began. According to the PFL, Newman made the last-minute withdrawal.

It is currently unknown what prompted Newman’s withdrawal.

Due to the last-minute nature of the circumstance, no replacement opponent has been named for Silveira. It is unknown if the promotion will attempt to re-book Newman vs. Silveira for a future PFL card.

The bantamweight bout between former interim Bellator champion Raufeon Stots and Renat Khavalov will now serve as the evening’s co-main event.

Additionally, the bout between Viviane Araujo and Shanna Young has been promoted from the prelims to the main card. The main card will go on with four fights.

The main event of PFL Chicago sees former Bellator bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis face the unbeaten Mitch McKee.

PFL Chicago results and highlights are updated live as the action unfolds from the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The main event will feature a bantamweight bout between Sergio Pettis and Mitch McKee. MMANews has you covered with all the results and highlights!

Sergio Pettis vs. Mitch McKee – Bantamweight Main Event

Pettis is 2-0 since arriving in the PFL, giving him two straight wins and eight wins in his last 10 fights. After dropping the Bellator bantamweight title to Patchy Mix in the promotion’s final event, Pettis fought Kyoji Horiguchi in RIZIN before debuting in the PFL last year. Pettis’ 2025 saw him earn a decision over Raufeon Stots and score a highlight knockout of Magomed Magomedov.

This is the PFL debut for the 10-0 McKee. The highly touted prospect is an LFA and Bellator veteran. McKee most recently fought at LFA 217 in September, knocking out Pedro Nobre.

The co-main event will be a middleweight battle between the undefeated Jordan Newman and PFL veteran Josh Silveira.

Newman is 8-0 and fought exclusively in Bellator before the promotion’s closing. He made his PFL debut last August, needing just one round to put away Eslam Abdul Baset.

Since coming to the PFL from the LFA, where he was a champion, it’s been a case of “the bridesmaid but never the bride” for Silveira. The 15-5 fighter is a veteran of the promotion’s old light heavyweight and middleweight tournaments, consistently falling short. Silveira made the 2023 PFL light heavyweight tournament final, only to lose to Impa Kasaganay.

Silveira is 3-3 in his last six but has won two of his last three. He most recently fought in August, scoring a decision over Murad Ramazanov.

  • PFL MENA 2026 Season Opening Event In May Postponed

PFL MENA 2026 Season Opening Event In May Postponed

The 2026 PFL MENA season will not start in its traditional early May slot.

In a press release from April 9, the PFL has announced that the opening card for the PFL MENA season this year has been postponed.

The event was originally scheduled for Friday, May 8, at the Dhahran Expo in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

“The Professional Fighters League today announced that PFL MENA 9, originally scheduled to take place in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia on May 8, has been postponed as the league finalizes updated event plans for the 2026 PFL MENA season,” the statement read. “All previously announced bouts will move forward as part of the 2026 PFL MENA season opener, with updated event details, including date and location, to be announced soon.

“All ticket holders will receive a full refund, which will be processed within the next 30 days. The Professional Fighters League remains committed to the continued growth of mixed martial arts across the region and intends to return to Al Khobar later this year as part of its 2026 event calendar.”

Though no reason was given in the press release, it’s assumed the PFL MENA postponement is due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Last year’s PFL MENA season saw Mohammad Alaqraa win the welterweight tournament title, Salah Eddine Hamli win at lightweight, Islam Reda win at featherweight, and Nawras Abzakh win at bantamweight.

The PFL’s other regional-based promotion, PFL Africa, begins its second season tomorrow, Friday, April 10, at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.

The UFC is scheduled to appear in the region on June 27 with their second UFC Baku event in Azerbaijan, as they did last June. Like the last couple of years, the UFC is also targeting Fight Night events in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. The UFC has also held an autumn pay-per-view event in Abu Dhabi annually since 2019 (except the period when “Fight Island” was used during the COVID era).

The UFC has not announced any plans to postpone these plans.

  • Johnny Eblen Ragdolls Bryan Battle In Submission Win

Johnny Eblen Ragdolls Bryan Battle In Submission Win

Johnny Eblen has made a statement — he wants a shot to get the PFL middleweight title back from Costello Van Steenis. He made that statement emphatically with a one-sided victory over Bryan Battle in the main event of PFL Pittsburgh.

Eblen landed an early takedown on Battle. Battle attempted to stand up, only to get brought back down slam style two more times by the former champ. Eblen continued this strategy, landing shots where he could, including a knee while standing and some ground-and-pound.

Eblen, in fact, landed eight takedowns on Battle during a dominant first-round. Eblen then put a bow on the bout by getting to Battle’s back and locking up a rear-naked choke, scoring the first-round submission win.

Johnny Eblen Dominates, Submits Bryan Battle At PFL Pittsburgh

Eblen rebounds from his title run and undefeated record ending at the hands of Van Steenis with a literal last-minute submission at PFL Cape Town this past summer. Eblen was 16-0 prior to that loss and is a former Bellator middleweight champion.

This was Battle’s first MMA bout since his release from the UFC due to weight issues. Battle’s last MMA bout prior to tonight was a split decision win over Randy Brown at UFC 310. The Ultimate Fighter season 29 winner fought in a pair of Dirty Boxing bouts last year following his UFC release.

  • Impa Kasaganay Spoils Dalton Rosta Homecoming With First-Round KO

Impa Kasaganay Spoils Dalton Rosta Homecoming With First-Round KO

Dalton Rosta’s Pittsburgh homecoming ended in disaster, as Impa Kasaganay took his best shots and fired back with his own best. The former PFL champion pounded Rosta en route to a first-round victory in the PFL Pittsburgh co-main event.

Rosta came out aggressively right from the gun, looking to lure Kasaganay into a brawl. Kasaganay stayed patient, landing a couple of strong combinations on Rosta, who adjusted to a tactical approach himself.

Rosta appeared to land a strong shot on Kasaganay, and he looked to swing for power. But Kasaganay landed a powerful right-left combination that caught Rosta, faceplanting Rosta and scoring the stoppage win.

Kasaganay won the 2023 PFL light heavyweight tournament and was a finalist in 2024, losing to Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov. After falling to eventual 2025 Middleweight World Tournament champ Fabian Edwards, Kasaganay rebounded with a finish of Andrew Sanchez in August.

Rosta made his PFL debut last year in the Middleweight World Tournament, reaching the final before getting knocked out by Edwards.

“The Hype Is Real” – Dakota Bush Lands One-Punch KO

The power of Dakota Bush was on full display at PFL Pittsburgh, as he landed a big knockout of Robert Watley in under a minute.

Just a few punches into the fight, Bush landed a low kick before landing a hook that hit right on the button, dropping Watley out in the middle of the cage.

Bush was making his PFL debut tonight. He has now won eight straight since departing the UFC in early 2022.

This loss snaps a five-fight win streak for Watley. The former CFFC champion made his PFL debut in August, scoring a third-round finish of Mads Burnell.

  • “Delivering The Violence” – Josh Fremd Nails Brutal KO

“Delivering The Violence” – Josh Fremd Nails Brutal KO

The PFL Pittsburgh night is young, but Josh Fremd chose violence and made the crowd loud early, courtesy of a hard-hitting knockout of Jarrah Al-Silawi.

Al-Silawi showed flashes of strength early on, particularly with his grappling. On the feet, however, Fremd was at a clear advantage with his striking.

Fremd added in takedowns, scoring some decent ground-and-pound. While Al-Silawi looked to score a late submission, particularly with an armbar threat, Fremd escaped and continued to pound away from the top.

Then, back on the feet, Silawi attempted to come forward — only for Fremd to land a brutal counterpunch that faceplanted Silawi out cold for the win.

PFL Pittsburgh Results: Eblen vs Battle Live Updates & Highlights

PFL Madrid results and highlights are updated live as the action unfolds from the UPMC Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The main event will feature a middleweight bout between Johnny Eblen and Bryan Battle. MMANews has you covered with all the results and highlights!

Johnny Eblen vs. Bryan Battle – Middleweight Main Event

This marks Eblen’s first fight since losing to Costello Van Steenis in dramatic fashion in their PFL middleweight title clash at PFL Cape Town this past July.

Prior to that loss, Eblen was 16-0 in professional MMA, defeating Gegard Mousasi for the Bellator middleweight title at Bellator 282. He defended the gold against Anatoly Tokov and Fabian Edwards (twice), as well as earning a win over Impa Kasaganagy at the PFL vs. Bellator event in February 2024.

This will be Battle’s first MMA bout since joining the PFL following his UFC release due to several weight misses. Battle last fought in MMA at UFC 310, defeating Randy Brown via split decision to move to 12-2 (1 NC).

Battle, the middleweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter season 29, fought in Dirty Boxing twice after his UFC release, earning sub-minute stoppages of Derik de Freitas and Nick Kohring.

The PFL Pittsburgh co-main event will be another middleweight battle, featuring the aforementioned Impa Kasaganay and Dalton Rosta.

Kasanagy won the PFL Light Heavyweight Tournament in 2023 but fell to Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov in the 2024 final. Kasaganay then competed in the 2025 Middleweight World Tournament, getting finished by Edwards, the eventual tournament champion. Kasaganay last fought in August, scoring a last-minute finish of Andrew Sanchez.

Rosta, entering this fight 11-2, also competed in the Middleweight World Tournament. He submitted Sabidou Sy and earned a split decision over Aaron Jeffrey before being knocked out by Edwards in the final.

  • Julio Arce Reflects on ‘Frustrating’ UFC Exit Ahead of PFL Debut

Julio Arce Reflects on ‘Frustrating’ UFC Exit Ahead of PFL Debut

Julio Arce is entering the PFL cage for the first time this Saturday in Pittsburgh to battle undefeated featherweight prospect Alexei Pergande, a challenge that comes almost exactly a couple of years after his tumultuous departure from the UFC.

Arce finished his UFC contract with a second-round knockout over Herbert Burns after missing weight for a bout at UFC Atlantic City in March 2024. He then waited in uncertainty for many months, not knowing whether the promotion would offer him another deal.

As it turns out, it didn’t.

“It was like a seven to eight month wait so then you just don’t know what’s happening,” Arce told MMA Fighting. “I’m seeing fights play out and I’m like, ‘Alright, give me somebody.’ But again, you don’t really know. I don’t know how the negotiations go behind the scenes when your contract is up, if they want to give you a chance to match or whatever.”

Mixed UFC Tenure Ends on Sour Note

Arce won six of 10 bouts in the UFC against notable names such as Dan Ige and Julian Erosa. While he’s happy with his overall tenure in the promotion, he was left with a sour taste following his exit.

“Honestly, that was the only little frustrating part because I know there’s, like, a whole wait period there,” Arce said. “If you could just be like, ‘Hey, we’re not going to re-sign you,’ then you could move on and start your next chapter.”

    Fresh Start with PFL

Now, Arce gets that fresh start with the PFL, facing an undefeated prospect in Pergande at PFL Pittsburgh. The bout represents a new opportunity for the veteran fighter to showcase his skills on a different stage after nearly a decade competing at the sport’s highest level.

The featherweight bout takes place this Saturday as part of the PFL’s latest event, giving Arce his first chance to compete under the organization’s unique tournament format and season structure.

  • PFL Pittsburgh Preview: Eblen Looks to Rebound Against Battle

The Professional Fighters League makes its Pittsburgh debut this Saturday with a 12-bout card at the UPMC Events Center. The main card airs on ESPN2 at 10 p.m. ET, with the early card streaming on the ESPN App starting at 7 p.m. ET.

Here’s a breakdown of the fights worth watching on the PFL Pittsburgh card.

Johnny Eblen (16-1) vs. Bryan Battle (12-2, 1 NC) – Middleweight Main Event

This is the most important fight on the card for the PFL middleweight division’s pecking order. Eblen, the former Bellator middleweight champion, hasn’t competed since losing his title to Costello Van Steenis via last-second rear-naked choke in Cape Town last July. That loss snapped a 16-fight winning streak that dated back to his 2017 pro debut.

The timing is notable. Van Steenis just defended the middleweight title with a third-round knockout of Fabian Edwards at PFL Madrid last week, so a strong Eblen performance here could put him right back in the title picture.

Battle brings a different kind of momentum. The Season 29 TUF winner was released by the UFC after consecutive weight misses despite going 7-1 in the Octagon. He signed with the PFL in September 2025, picked up two sub-60-second knockouts in Dirty Boxing Championship, and now steps into the SmartCage for the first time against the division’s top-ranked fighter.

Battle’s finishing ability is real, with nine stoppages across his 12 wins. But Eblen’s pressure wrestling has historically neutralized dynamic strikers. The question is whether the Cape Town loss left a psychological mark or sharpened Eblen’s focus.

Dalton Rosta (11-2) vs. Impa Kasanganay (19-6) – Middleweight Co-Main Event

Rosta gets a homecoming fight in Pittsburgh after reaching the 2025 PFL Middleweight World Tournament Finals, where he lost to Edwards by third-round head kick knockout. This is also a gym war: Rosta trains at Kill Cliff FC, Kasanganay at American Top Team, two South Florida rivals separated by a short drive.

Kasanganay, a former PFL light heavyweight champion, has been a fixture at the top of the PFL roster since its acquisition of Bellator. He’s fought Eblen (split decision loss) and Edwards (TKO loss) in recent years. This is a borderline must-win for both fighters if they want to stay in the title conversation at 185 pounds.

Fights to Watch on the Undercard

The lightweight matchup between two-time PFL champion Natan Schulte (25-5-1) and undefeated Jakub Kaszuba (15-0) is arguably the best fight outside the main card. Schulte hasn’t fought in the PFL SmartCage in three years and faces a real test in Kaszuba, the two-time PFL Europe lightweight champion riding a unanimous decision win over Sergio Cossio from last August.

At women’s flyweight, Ariane Lipski da Silva (17-11) makes her PFL debut against Sumiko Inaba (8-2). Lipski, a 14-fight UFC veteran nicknamed “Queen of Violence,” owns 10 finishes across her 17 wins. Inaba went five rounds with undefeated Dakota Ditcheva last year and has never been stopped in her two career losses.

Undefeated featherweight prospect Alexei Pergande (7-0) out of Kill Cliff FC takes on 10-fight UFC veteran Julio Arce (21-6), who enters riding a three-fight winning streak. Pergande is one of the PFL’s more intriguing young talents and could make a statement here.

    How to Watch PFL Pittsburgh

PFL Pittsburgh airs Saturday, March 28 from the UPMC Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The main card starts at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. The early card begins at 7 p.m. ET on the ESPN App.

  • Paul Hughes Withdraws from PFL Belfast with Knee Injury: ‘I Am Absolutely Crushed’

Paul Hughes Withdraws from PFL Belfast with Knee Injury: ‘I Am Absolutely Crushed’

Paul Hughes recently withdrew from the PFL Belfast main event scheduled for April 16th after sustaining a knee injury in training. The fighter announced the setback on social media and will undergo surgery soon.

In a recentย Instagramย video post, Hughes revealed the unfortunate incident and said that his PFL comeback fight was called off due to a serious knee injury.

โ€œIโ€™m out of PFL Belfast. Did everything I possibly could. Surgery next week to fix the issue. Iโ€™m sorry to all my supporters. I am absolutely crushed,โ€ Hughes said.

โ€œThe card will go ahead featuring the best talent the island has to offer. Including my teammates and the future of Irish MMA.

โ€œI will be back as soon as humanly possible. The obstacle is the way.โ€

Hughes was set to headline the event against Jay Jay Wilson in front of his hometown crowd. The promotion announced the change on Wednesday, with Wilson now facing undefeated Darragh Kelly (9-0) in the new main event.

    PFL Belfast Card

The withdrawal is a significant blow for the Belfast card, as Hughes holds a perfect 4-0 record in his hometown with all four victories coming by first-round finish. The 27-year-old fighter carries a professional record of 14-3 and has challenged for the 155-pound championship in both PFL and Bellator.

PFL’s Ray Sefo issued a statement wishing Hughes a speedy recovery. The promotion moved quickly to secure Kelly as a replacement opponent to maintain a competitive main event for the April 16 card.

No timeline has been provided for Hughes’ return to competition following the surgery.

We at MMA News wish Paul Hughes a speedy recovery.

  • Francis Ngannou Was ‘Not Aware’ of PFL Release

Francis Ngannou Was ‘Not Aware’ of PFL Release

Francis Ngannou is no longer under contract with the Professional Fighters League as the promotion announced they have parted ways with the former UFC heavyweight champion. The split was revealed in March, less than six months after Ngannou’s lone appearance for the organization.

PFL released a statement confirming the decision.

“The Professional Fighters League has made the decision to part ways with Francis Ngannou,” the promotion said. “We have great respect for Francis as both an athlete and a person, and we wish him success in the next chapter of his combat sports career.”

Francis Ngannou: Decision To Part Ways Was Not Mine

Speaking onย The Ariel Helwani Show, Ngannou said:

โ€œThey wanted to get ahead of the story, which is what every organization would do. Because we part ways since January. I also wanted them to come up with something better. Because the decision to part ways was not mine. I was a little surprised when they sent me that. They should have also told meโ€ฆ People just sent it to me. I just saw it out there; I wasnโ€™t aware at all.โ€

The 39-year-old Ngannou fought just once for PFL, defeating Renan Ferreira via first-round knockout in October 2024 to capture the symbolic PFL super fights heavyweight title. That victory marked his return to MMA after a two-year absence from the sport.

    Ngannou’s PFL Tenure

Ngannou signed with PFL in May 2023 after departing the UFC in January of that year. Beyond competing, he also served as chairman of PFL Africa, which launched in May 2025.

The Cameroonian fighter holds an 18-3 professional MMA record with 12 knockouts. He is still recognized as the lineal heavyweight champion of mixed martial arts despite not holding an active title.

Ngannou did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the split, according to ESPN. He is now a free agent and able to negotiate with any promotion.

Costello Van Steenis vs. Fabian Edwards – PFL Middleweight Championship Main Event

Van Steenis has won five of his last six, and this marks his first PFL middleweight championship title defense. Van Steenis scored a come-from-behind, last-second submission of Johnny Eblen at PFL Cape Town last July to become PFL middleweight champion.

Edwards has won three straight and earned tonight’s title opportunity by winning the 2025 PFL Middleweight World Tournament, knocking out Dalton Rosta in the final. Edwards has previously challenged Eblen for the Bellator middleweight title twice, losing both times.

The co-main event will see A.J. McKee take on Adam Borics. McKee scored a decision over Akhmed Magomedov at PFL Cape Town, rebounding from a loss to Paul Hughes — just the second of McKee’s career. • Francis Ngannou, PFL Part Ways After Just 1 Fight In 3 Years

Francis Ngannou, PFL Part Ways After Just 1 Fight In 3 Years

The relationship between the PFL and Francis Ngannou reached an end when the two sides cut ties on the morning of March 6, bringing a disappointing end to a massive contract signed.

The news was first reported by Mike Pendleton of Sherdog.

The PFL then confirmed Ngannou’s departure in an official statement released during the day.

“The Professional Fighters League has made the decision to part ways with Francis Ngannou,” the statement reads. “We have great respect for Francis as both an athlete and a person, and we wish him success in the next chapter of his combat sports career. The PFL remains focused on recruiting and signing the best athletes in the sport while continuing to deliver world-class competition for fans around the globe.”

The PFL signed Ngannou to a massive contract in May 2023, four months following Ngannou’s public departure from the UFC as heavyweight champion. The contract, for the then-PFL “Super Fights” pay-per-view division, had various provisions that included Ngannou guaranteeing opponents a $2 million minimum payday, as well as serving on the PFL’s global advisory board and as chairman of PFL Africa.

Ngannou was allowed to compete in boxing as part of this deal as well. He fought twice in the boxing ring, going to a decision in a loss to then-WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and getting knocked out by former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Ngannou only fought once in the PFL, knocking out Renan Ferreira for the PFL Super Fights heavyweight championship at the 2024 Battle of the Giants event.

The tumultuousness in the relationship between Ngannou and the PFL was also seen when he did not appear for the first two PFL Africa events last year. Ngannou openly criticized the promotion for not focusing on Africa-born fighters.

In recent months, the PFL has gone through a restructuring period, parting ways with various members of their organization that included longtime president Ray Sefo and founder Donn Davis, who stepped down from his role.

Ngannou is an immediate free agent, able to sign with whatever promotion he chooses.

  • Patrick Habirora to Face Benson Henderson in PFL Brussels Main Event on May 23

Patrick Habirora to Face Benson Henderson in PFL Brussels Main Event on May 23

Belgium’s undefeated welterweight star Patrick “The Belgian Bomber” Habirora (8-0) will return to his home country for a massive main event showdown against former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson on May 23 at PFL Brussels. He officially announced the news on Monday’s Helwani Show.

    Habirora’s Rise

Habirora has established himself as one of PFL Europe’s most exciting prospects, going a perfect 4-0 inside the PFL SmartCage. The 24-year-old Belgian has five of his victories coming by way of KO/TKO, powered by a devastating striking skillset that has made him a fan favorite. In his most recent outing, Habirora headlined PFL Europe Brussels in July 2025, delivering a spectacular first-round head kick knockout of UFC veteran Danny Roberts at the 4:32 mark.

    Henderson’s Credentials

Benson Henderson is a decorated MMA veteran and former UFC lightweight champion who has remained active in combat sports since departing Bellator. Henderson has competed across multiple organizations since his MMA career wound down, including Karate Combat, Misfits Boxing, and grappling competitions, making him a seasoned and dangerous opponent for any prospect.โ€‹

    What’s at Stake

This fight represents a significant step up in competition for Habirora, who already proved himself on home soil in 2025 by knocking out another UFC veteran in Roberts. A win over Henderson would dramatically elevate Habirora’s profile and signal his readiness for elite-level competition.

PFL Brussels has become a signature event for Belgian MMA, with Habirora serving as the face of that movement.

  • Paul Hughes vs. Jay Jay Wilson Headlines PFL Belfast on April 16

Paul Hughes vs. Jay Jay Wilson Headlines PFL Belfast on April 16

Paul “Big News” Hughes (14-3) will headline PFL Belfast on April 16 from the SSE Arena in Northern Ireland, facing New Zealand’s Jay Jay “The Mฤori Kid” Wilson (11-2) in a lightweight main event, the league announced Monday.

The bout marks Hughes’ first appearance since losing a unanimous decision to PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov at PFL Champions Series 3 in Dubai last October.

It will be the second consecutive time Hughes has headlined an event at the SSE Arena, having famously stopped Bruno Miranda in 42 seconds at PFL’s debut Belfast card in May 2025.

Hughes Calls Belfast Return ‘A Redemption Arc’

Hughes, ranked No. 4 in the PFL lightweight division, is framing the fight as the beginning of a climb back toward a third meeting with Nurmagomedov. The County Derry native says finishing Wilson is a requirement, not just a preference.

“It’s not good enough to have a good performance, I need to finish you and put myself in the mix again,” Hughes said. “This is the beginning of my redemption arc โ€” it starts with Jay Jay.”

    PFL Belfast Poster

PFL CEO John Martin confirmed the matchup to ESPN, noting that Hughes specifically requested a return to Belfast. “Hughes is looking to get back on track, and Jay Jay will have an opportunity to play spoiler in Paul’s backyard,” Martin said. “I think that makes for a super fun fight.”

Wilson Seeking Upset To Boost Title Contention

Wilson enters as a significant underdog fighting on enemy soil, but the 28-year-old Kiwi has never been stopped across 13 professional bouts. He is coming off a decision loss to undefeated contender Archie Colgan on the same PFL Dubai card where Hughes fell to Nurmagomedov. Prior to that, Wilson withdrew from the PFL lightweight tournament semifinals due to a broken jaw.

A win over Hughes on his home turf would immediately push Wilson into PFL lightweight title contention. Nurmagomedov most recently defended his title against Alfie Davis at PFL Dubai in February, with Colgan expected to be next in line for a championship shot.

    PFL Belfast Broadcast & Tickets

PFL Belfast airs live in the United States on ESPN2, the ESPN App, and ESPN Deportes. The main card begins at 7 PM ET, with the preliminary card streaming on the ESPN App (ESPN Unlimited) at 2:30 PM ET. Doors at the SSE Arena open at 7 PM local time, with the main event scheduled after midnight BST.

Pre-sale tickets are available Tuesday, February 24 at 12 PM GMT, with general sale beginning Wednesday, February 25 at 12 PM GMT via pfl.info/belfast. The full undercard is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

  • Sergio Pettis vs. Mitch McKee Headlines PFL Chicago on April 11

Sergio Pettis vs. Mitch McKee Headlines PFL Chicago on April 11

Former Bellator champion Sergio Pettis will face undefeated contender Mitch McKee in a bantamweight main event at PFL Chicago on April 11 from Wintrust Arena. The winner will move directly into title contention for the promotion’s still-vacant 135-pound championship.

PFL CEO John Martin confirmed the matchup on Thursday, calling it “a divisional inflection point” for the bantamweight division. Pettis currently sits atop PFL’s bantamweight rankings, while McKee brings a perfect 10-0 record into the biggest fight of his career.

Pettis Riding Momentum After Highlight-Reel KO

Pettis (25-7) enters on a two-fight win streak in 2025, including a Knockout of the Year contender over Magomed Magomedov at PFL Dubai in October. The former Bellator bantamweight champion was being dominated on the scorecards before uncorking a devastating spinning back elbow that flatlined Magomedov in the second round.

Prior to that, Pettis defeated former teammate and ex-Bellator interim champion Raufeon Stots by decision at PFL Chicago in June 2025. Pettis has previously expressed ambitions to capture PFL gold and pursue a Rizin title in 2026.

McKee: Undefeated Prospect Making the Leap

McKee (10-0) is a former University of Minnesota wrestling All-American who turned pro in MMA in 2021. The 28-year-old Minnesota native trains at Kill Cliff FC in South Florida and boasts six knockouts in his 10 career victories. He was most recently seen headlining LFA 217 in September 2025, where he scored another knockout win.

This represents a significant step up in competition for McKee, who has primarily competed in LFA throughout his professional career. A win over the PFL’s top-ranked bantamweight would immediately establish him as a legitimate title contender.

Newman vs. Silveira in Middleweight Co-Main

The PFL also announced a middleweight co-main event between undefeated prospect Jordan Newman (8-0) and veteran Josh Silveira (15-5). Newman, who fights out of Roufusport in Milwaukee, competed in the 2025 PFL World Tournament, while Silveira is a former 2023 PFL light heavyweight finalist who has transitioned to middleweight.

The PFL’s bantamweight, featherweight, and women’s flyweight world championships all remain vacant as the promotion continues building its divisional hierarchies. With the winner of Pettis vs. McKee heading straight into championship contention, PFL Chicago could prove pivotal in determining when and how the 135-pound title picture takes shape.

  • Javier Mendez: Usman Nurmagomedov Will Win the UFC Title

Javier Mendez: Usman Nurmagomedov Will Win the UFC Title

If one were to believe Javier Mendez, Usman Nurmagomedov will have the same success with a quest for gold in the UFC as he did in PFL.

Nurmagomedov, the current PFL lightweight champion, will be a free agent at the end of the year. While there is no guarantee yet on what his future will be, let alone what his next fight is, many speculate he will jump to the UFC.

This is a move that Mendez sees happening. The American Kickboxing Academy leader, who trains Nurmagomedov, as well as the longtime trainer of his cousin — the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov — guarantees that if Usman Nurmagomedov goes to the UFC, he will become a champion.

“When he gets in there, I believe he’s going to win the title,” Mendez told Submission Radio. “He’s that good. People just — they’re going to doubt because he’s not in the UFC. Whatever; this kid’s that good.”

Mendez quickly followed and clarified that this would be a prediction if he gets to the UFC, saying there is a chance Usman Nurmagomedov never becomes part of the UFC roster during his career.

Javier Mendez Confident Usman Nurmagomedov Will Succeed With a Move to UFC

Lightweight has been a prominent division within the UFC over the last decade. To this day, it is filled with a high level of talented athletes, especially those in the top-10 of the title picture.

A move to the UFC would bring about ideas of new and potentially entertaining matchups for Nurmagomedov that can include the likes of current undisputed champion Ilia Topuria, interim champion Justin Gaethje, Paddy Pimblett, Arman Tsarukyan, Max Holloway, and Charles Oliveira.

Of course, concern will be had over how Nurmagomedov would fare in the UFC. While some fighters who have jumped from one promotion to the UFC, including Gaethje and Kayla Harrison, have fared well for themselves, others like the recently released Patchy Mix have not.

Mendez feels Nurmagomedov’s work with his cousin, as well as fighters like former UFC lightweight champion and current UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev, gives him an edge in being able to hang with this crop of talent.

“That’s why I make some bold statements, because I get to see that,” Mendez said. “If I didn’t get to see that, I don’t think I would make those bold statements. I get to see him, so I can see what he can do.

“…I get to watch him with the best that’s ever done it.”

Nurmagomedov fought in the main event of PFL Dubai earlier this month, retaining the PFL lightweight championship with a finish of Alfie Davis.

The question as of now becomes if the PFL will give him another title defense fight to finish out his contract before the end of 2026 — or leave him on the shelf to end his contract at the latest date possible while trying to work out a new deal with him.

โ€œThe Bossโ€ is riding a two-fight winning streak, with both victories coming by first-round submission last year. The 31-year-old American last tasted defeat in January 2025, when she suffered a split decision loss to Shannon Clark at LFA 200.

  • “Need To See Usman In UFC” – Usman Nurmagomedov Chokes Out Alfie Davis

“Need To See Usman In UFC” – Usman Nurmagomedov Chokes Out Alfie Davis

Usman Nurmagomedov made a statement that he is the man to beat at lightweight in PFL, defeating Alfie Davis to remain PFL lightweight champion in the main event of PFL Dubai.

After some feeling out, Nurmagomedov took control of the opening round comfortably, at one point looking for a choke in on Davis. Davis picked up his pace a little in the second round, landing his karate attacks on Nurmagomedov. The defending champion, however, showed off his ability to slip punches and pressed forward on Davis.

Nurmagomedov level changed and scored a takedown early in the third. Nurmagomedov controlled the action on the ground in Davis’ guard for three minutes before Davis got back to his feet.

Despite Davis’ efforts, Nurmagomedov continued with forward pressure, answering Davis’ offense and landing another takedown. That led to Nurmagomedov locking up an arm-triangle choke from the back, putting Davis to sleep to retain the gold.

Usman Nurmagomedov Retains Lightweight Title Over Alfie Davis At PFL Dubai

Nurmagomedov officially became PFL lightweight champion with his win over Paul Hughes in their October 2025 rematch. Prior to this, Nurmagomedov was Bellator lightweight champion, defeating Patricky Pitbull for the title before retaining it against Benson Henderson, Brent Primus, Alexander Shabliy, and Hughes.

Davis earned tonight’s title shot by winning the 2025 PFL Lightweight World Tournament, defeating Clay Collard, Primus, and Gadzhi Rabadanov to do so.

  • “Retired At His Prime” – Fans React to Kuramagomedov’s PFL Retirement

“Retired At His Prime” – Fans React to Kuramagomedov’s PFL Retirement

The PFL had its inaugural welterweight champion in its new era, and his name was Ramazan Kuramagomedov. But just like that, it appears to all be over already.

Kuramagomedov defeated Shamil Musaev in the co-main event of PFL Dubai to capture the gold — only to announce retirement at just 29 years old and a 14-0 record.

A quiet first round saw Kuramagomedov present a strong advantage, utilizing the cage and grappling pressure to stifle and nullify the offense of Musaev. Kuramagomedov turned things up late in the second round, however, landing a knee that did damage before dropping Musaev with a kick, landing in some strong follow-up shots.

Musaev got back to his feet but was in Kuramagomedov’s clinch and ate a couple of more shots before the end of round two.

Musaev tried to show off his own grappling with a throw attempt early in the third round, only for him to end up on the bottom of Kuramagomedov. After a couple of minutes of work on top, Kuramagomedov made his way to the back of Musaev, securing a body triangle and looking for a choke. Musaev escaped with 40 seconds left in the round but couldn’t get much offense going from there.

Kuramagomedov continued to use his clinch work and grappling to shut down Musaev’s offense. Musaev then landed a knee on a grounded Kuramagomedov before the end of the round, resulting in a point deduction. Musaev tried to get his offense efforts up in round five, but it was all for naught.

All three judges scored the fight for Kuramagomedov 48-46.

Kuramagomedov, who appears to have suffered a broken arm during the fight, then took everyone by surprise by saying he had competed in his last fight, something he says he had seriously contemplated for a while.

Ramazan Kuramagomedov Retires After Defeating Shamil Musaev For PFL Welterweight Title At PFL Dubai

Kuramagomedov’s last fight prior to tonight came in June 2024, at Bellator Dublin, where he defeated Jason Jackson to become Bellator welterweight champion. Kuramagomedov did not defend the Bellator title before the promotion was dissolved by the PFL.

Musaev, a Wushu Sanda champion, earned tonight’s title shot by going through Logan Storley, Murad Ramazanov, and Magomed Umalatov to win the 2024 PFL Welterweight Tournament.

PFL Dubai Results: Nurmagomedov vs Davis Live Updates And Highlights

With a new focus of delivering the best fights possible and a new vision under new PFL CEO John Martin, the PFL kicks off its 2026 campaign with a pair of title fights topping PFL Dubai on February 7, at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. MMANews has you covered with all the results and highlights!

Nurmagomedov vs Davis: Lightweight Title Fight

The PFL lightweight championship will be on the line in the main event, as Usman Nurmagomedov defends his title against Alfie Davis.

Nurmagomedov officially became the inaugural PFL lightweight champion at PFL Champions Series 3 in October, winning his rematch with Paul Hughes. Nurmagomedov was the Bellator lightweight champion when the promotion was purchased by the PFL in late 2023. He defeated Patricky Pitbull for the Bellator title at Bellator 288 and retained the gold against Benson Henderson, Brent Primus, Alexander Shabliy and Hughes.

Davis, a Bellator veteran himself, earned this title shot by winning the Lightweight World Tournament last year. Davis scored a first-round finish of Clay Collard in the opening round, defeated Primus by decision in the semi-finals, and took a decision over Gadzhi Rabadanov in the final.

The PFL welterweight champion will be determined in the co-main event, as Ramazan Kuramagomedov faces Shamil Musaev.

Kuramagomedov is 13-0 with worldly MMA experience that includes fights in the PFL, Bellator, Eagle FC, and ACB, as well as an appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series. After finishes over Jaleel Willis and Randall Wallace in his first two Bellator appearances, Kuramagomedov defeated Jason Jackson in Dublin in June 2024 to win the Bellator welterweight championship.

Musaev, unbeaten himself at 18-0-1, ran through the competition to win the 2024 PFL welterweight tournament. Musaev’s path to that victory included wins over Logan Storley, Murad Ramazanov (twice), and Magomed Umalatov.
